Rumor: Nintendo 3DS given December release date in UK

Nintendo will begin to promote the 3DS in October and it should be on shelves right before Christmas. The retail source expects a significant shortage in 3DS units when the system launches. They expect a situation similar to the Wii release in 2006. Retailers all over had a hard time meeting demand for the Wii. This shortage went on for so long, many people became shocked when they saw a “Wii in the wild.”
