The Sims 3 Showtime inspired by The Sims Superstar
Like The Sims 3 Pets, it seems The Sims 3 Showtime is going to cause deja vu among players. That’s because it is the second expansion pack in a row for The Sims 3 that looks to earlier Sims expansion packs for inspiration on how to make the virtual world more entertaining for its virtual people and their human puppetmasters. This time, it’s all about making various sims famous
Superstar will add new careers, objects, interactions, locations, traits, lifetime wishes and the Starlight Shores area. Players will now be able to get their sims jobs in the entertainment business, specifically as an acrobat, DJ, magician or singer. Choose one of those positions and you can use SimPort to import your character into another player’s game or import someone else’s character into your game to make a cameo appearance. This expansion will also add social networking site features into The Sims 3…
Weeds Social Club lets you deal pot on Facebook
It’s no wonder advertisers love social gaming. Facebook is the perfect platform to unleash games that not only feature commercials but are not too different from commercials themselves. Weeds Social Club is a new Facebook game loosely based on the Showtime drama that features a drug-dealing suburban housewife.
As in the TV show, you’ll need to save your house by selling illegal drugs. You’ll unlock various strains of weed to keep your customers inordinately happy and unusually hungry. Actor Justin Kirk appears in the game, portraying his TV character Andy Botwin. He’ll give you tips on how to um, diversify your portfolio, so to speak.
Showtime’s The Tudors gets a game
It wasn’t all that surprising when the announcement came that Dexter, the Showtime series about a blood splatter analyst serial killer who only kills serial killers, would inspire a video game. It is surprising, however, when a show like The Tudors gets a game of it’s very own. Merscom and Showtime Networks have decided the show is worthy of an interactive offspring.
The Tudors game is going to be a casual game that combines two popular genres, adventure and hidden object. The premise hasn’t been unveiled, but it will act as a sort of side-story and complement to the series, and center around a mystery players will have to solve.
The Tudors series covers the life of King Henry VIII. You know, the one with all the wives, many of whom end up dead…
A Dexter videogame is in the works
Dexter is not only receiving a CBS debut, but a console one as well. Marc Ecko Entertainment has announced that it will create a video game based on the television show about a serial killer who hunts escaped serial killers. So far only an agreement with Showtime Networks has been finalized, and the game is in pre-production, so there is no information concerning what platform it will be on or when a finished product will be released.
