E3 2011: X-Men: Destiny will let you unlock your mutant potential
Activision and Silicon Knights are teaming up for X-Men: Destiny, an action role-playing game that begins with you receiving your “X-Gene.” In the Marvel Comics universe, some heroes receive their powers in freak accidents. Others, called mutants, are just born with a gene that will give them superpowers. This “X-Gene” is not unlike the onset of puberty for a normal teenager.
In X-Men:Destiny, your character is attending a peaceful rally in San Francisco when conflict breaks out. Your mutation kicks in right then and you will choose what superpower you want.

X-Men Destiny is still shrouded in secrecy, but Official Xbox Magazine UK happened to run a preview on the DS, PS3, Wii and Xbox 360 game. Well, since it’s an Xbox magazine, it primarily focused on the Xbox 360 version. But since it’s multiplatform, information for one system will apply to the others. We still don’t know exactly what kind of game X-Men Destiny will be (action? RPG? action RPG?), but OXM’s article did offer a bit of background on the game’s setting, as well as some mutants that will be encountered and how the three playable characters will be developed…
Dyack: Too Human demo coming. Eventually.
