The PS3 Bluetooth headset is getting slimmer

There is something about electronic devices being razor thin that gets consumers in an uproar. Slimming down consoles is nothing new, but slimming down a Bluetooth headset for a console is something you don’t see everyday. Sony is allegedly preparing to release a slimmer version of the official PS3 Bluetooth headset. It fits in nicely with the PS3 slim and the PS3 Surround Sound System.

Rumor: PS3 slim may be real, won’t be announced at E3 2009

A source within Ars Technica and VG247 now say the PS3 slim is very real and will be on store shelves Fall 2009.

The source says the slim console won’t be announced at E3 2009 because Sony wants to sell the units that are currently on shelves. Once that supply starts to dwindle the company is expected announce the new slim model. This model also could also usher in a PS3 price cut if we assume that smaller yet just as powerful technology is present in the PS3 slim which will help cut down on development costs. Sony just may pass the savings on to the consumer.
