TGS 2010: Play as Snake in Monster Hunter Portable 3rd
Remember how Konami’s Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker had Felynes and dinosaur-like monsters from Capcom’s Monster Hunter series. Well, it’s happening again, but in reverse. Capcom’s next Monster Hunter game, Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, is going to have Metal Gear Solid Snake and The Boss cameos…
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker boost PSP sales in Japan
The PSP sold 59,315 units in that same week to the PSP Go’s 1,890. In the previous week the PSP and PSP Go moved 30,302 units. The PSP managed to outsell every handheld and home console this week as well. Is it a coincidence PSP sales more than doubled the same week Peace Walker is released? We think not.
Who’s On Crack in video games for April 9, 2010
People do crazy schtuff. Companies, which are run by people, do crazy stuff on a much larger scale. And when you mix fantasy worlds, die-hard fandom and entertainment industry PR, even crazier stuff happens. This week we have Microsoft, Konami, everyone who already owns an iPad (except you, Kirk), that jerk who smashed his iPad for fleeting internet fame, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime, hentai haters and me…

During Microsoft’s E3 2009 press conference, Hideo Kojima walked on stage to introduce a chapter in the Metal Gear Solid series. This new game called Metal Gear Solid: Rising will star Raiden as the protagonist and apparently won’t have anything to do with Solid Snake.
Today (June 3, 2009), however, Hideo Kojima returned to the stage during Konami’s press conference to announce Metal Gear Solid: Rising would not be exclusive to the Xbox 360. It will instead be launching simultaneously on…
Japanese Rep suggests Konami “looking into” Metal Gear Solid 4 for Xbox 360
As one of the Playstation 3′s defining exclusive titles, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots has long been the subject of multiplatform rumors that its creator, Konami’s Hideo Kojima, has consistently sought to deny by pointing to the game’s reliance on the PS3′s hardware and the Blu-ray disc format. And yet, the rumors continue.
Speaking with Japanese stock investment research firm Morningstar, a Konami public relations representative named Yoshitaka Arai has reportedly confirmed that the company is “looking into” an Xbox 360 port of the game due to…
Gamertell Review: Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for PS3
Title: Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the PatriotsPrice: $59.99System(s): PlayStation 3Release Date: June 12, 2008Publisher (Developer): Konami (Kojima Productions)ESRB Rating: “Mature” for blood, crude humor, strong language, suggestive themes and violence.Pros: Awesome storyline with new twists to the plot in every chapter, great music and familiar and new characters to interact with.Cons: Camera angle is a little awkward, elements in the environment hinders snake’s ability to use a sniper rifle and even the Solid Eye. The game also has way too many flashbacks and zoom ins that often mute the important information during briefing sessions.Overall Score: Two Thumbs Up, 98/100, A+, * * * * * stars
Hideo Kojima and the crew at Konami have really outdone themselves with Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, creating a thrill to play from beginning to end. And if asked who I’d rather be stranded on a deserted island with, my boyfriend or Snake, hands down it would have to be Snake and the complete Metal Gear Solid series.
