SOCOM 4 released delayed until 2011

Bad news for all the armchair SOCOMs ready to storm the beaches and take down an unsuspecting dictator. On its SOCOM blog, Zipper Interactive confirmed the first-person shooter will be delayed until sometime in 2011. Zipper’s statements indicate the delay is being used to improve the game.

Sony introduces PSP Favorites, free game offers

Sony is trying to bring back the PSP in a big way. In addition to the 10 free games offer and the new marketing scheme, Sony is lowering the price of some PSP games. First up is the PSP Favorites line. These games will now cost $9.99 starting today (June 1, 2010). The games they are offering at this price are well worth it.

PS Home Update: Quest for the Golden Gun in SOCOM, New Updated Spaces and travel to Monkey Island

You can now buy the Monkey Island Ghost Pirate Ship Personal Space. This space is huge but, if you’re sensitive to colors, this may be a bit harsh on your eyes (as you can see in the video). You can also get a new SOCOM space, IREM Square Bon Festival has a new vendor and the Gamer’s Lounge gets a major update. don’t miss the giant list o’ new stuffs as well…

PlayStation Store Update: Exploring a tree and sniping enemies (October 18, to October 24, 2009)

This week’s featured downloadable game is Topatoi: The Great Tree Story for $9.99. Players control a vehicle that operates much like an old fashioned children’s spinning top toy through a platform puzzle to make their way up a tree by leaping, spinning or rolling through, over or across moving platforms.

This week’s PSP downloadable game is SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Tactical Strike for $15.99.

Sony Home Update: Hamsters vs Humans, new spaces, apartments available

There’s nothing wrong with being cute and furry in PlayStation Home but after a strange message appeared on the virtual PSP menu June 18, 2009, informing users of a strange virus breaking out, turning everyone into strange creatures.

There are also more personal spaces available including a Club House and Ghostbusters Firehouse space with free items, a Hamster Dance Marathon, new games, updates to EA’s Sports Complex and we visit the end of Xi: The Hub.

Game-themed events help expand Sony’s Home throughout February 2009

If you have a PlayStation 3 and have yet to register or explore HOME, this is the month to do so.

Since Sony’s Home it opened its doors, I’ve been exploring the different things you can do in home besides shopping, chatting with friends and hanging out at the bowling alley arcades (for all the freebies you can unlock playing Ice Breaker, Carriage Return and Echochrome, of course).

Several events have already been started in celebration of Street Fighter IV, Killzone 2, Resident Evil 5, Warhawk and SOCOM.

PS3 firmware ver. 2.50, PSP firmware ver. 5.0 detailed

Sony has released the details on its next firmware updates for PS3 and PSP.

While no release dates were given for the updates, Sony expects both will be released within the month. The updates promise to bring in a slew of conveniences and, of course the big one for Playstation Portable owners, the Wi-Fi store.
