Assassin’s Creed 2 extended preview airing during South Park episode
If you’re eagerly anticipating the forthcoming release of Assassin’s Creed 2 and have cable, then you’ll want to watch South Park at 10pm, 9pm Central time on Wednesday, November 11, 2009. Well, technically you don’t want to watch South Park, you want to watch the commercials during South Park. There is going to be an extended sneak preview during the show. I’m guessing it’ll probably happen during the last commercial break. That’s when they usually sneak the hyped commercials in.
Assassin’s Creed 2 comes out for the PS3 and Xbox 360 on November 17, 2009. A version for Windows PCs tentatively scheduled for an early 2010 release. The PSP game Assassin’s Creed: Bloodlines will also debut on November 17, 2009…
Opinion: Apple needs to drastically revamp and better regulate the App Store
There’s no other way to look at it: Apple’s App Store is a mess.
Navigating through the torrents of daily application volley is the equivalent of trying to navigate a blizzard on Mt. Everest. It’s entirely possible but requires a Sherpa. The worst part is, 90 percent of those apps being volleyed at you are worthless crap that only exist to show how desperately Apple needs to put in place a quality assurance team that doesn’t give off the impressions that monkeys are jumping up and down on buttons. Apple won’t fix these problem on its own, so leave it to us to huff and puff at Apple’s door until the company decides to listen.
Hey, Apple! We want you to fix the App Store and here’s why…
Train dogs in Dog Whisperer DS – Cartman not included
Ubisoft, the game company which brought us the Petz and Imagine game titles that litter the DS aisles, has something new planned – a pet game based on Dog Whisperer. Before the end of Fall 2008, DS owners will be able to get inside their dog’s head with the a DS game that uses Cesar Millan’s methods.
Parents looking for a traditional pet sim for their child probably won’t want to pick up the Dog Whisperer game. The gameplay sounds more in line with one of the Imagine titles, as the player actually acts as a dog behavior expert, like Cesar Millan, and learns how to handle problem dogs. Ubisoft’s information on the title states that there will be 40 dog problems to deal with, and that Cesar Millan will be acting as a mentor to players, guiding them through it…
MTV to hold “Gaming Day” on Friday the 13th
MTV is going to be hosting another “Gaming Day” on June 13, 2008. (Ooo, Friday the 13th!) All day MTV will feature programs related to video games and gaming. It’ll be a nice change of pace – because you know people can only take so much reality TV.
According to Gamefront.de, quite a bit of special programing is planned. Two amazing South Park episodes will be shown – “Guitar Queer-o” and “Make Love Not Warcraft.” Some other notable shows announced are a “MTV Videogame Special” discussing the history of games and consoles, women and games and video game movies, a “Digital Heroes” special which will talk about the most popular heroes and anti-heroes and “Digital Heroes: Strike Back,” which will have Jade Raymond as a special guest. (On a personal note: I love Babelfish.)
Behind the scenes of “Guitar Queer-O”
South Park is gaining quite a reputation with gaming-related episodes lately. The comedy series made waves with its “Make Love, Not Warcraft” episode, featured the Wii prominently in another episode last year, and just last night, debuted “Guitar Queer-O”, which pokes fun at the wildly popular music series. According to the South Park production blog, more »
Tenth Season South Park DVD set includes WOW trial disc, three game-inspired episodes
As if a season of South Park on DVD wasn’t fun enough, the set will also include a 14-day free trial of World of Warcraft. The DVD-ROM is inserted into the set with the usual CD-sized paper envelope.
The partnership is a result of the game-themed, emmy-nominated episode titled “Make Love, Not Warcraft,” featuring the little naughty kids playing WOW. The graphics for that episode were provided by Blizzard Entertainment, makers of WOW. South Park: The Complete Tenth Season three-disk DVD set will be available in stores an online August 21, 2007, and will retail for $49.99.
