E3 2009: Simple Lifeforms announces Spell Souls, searches for beta testers

While E3 is a time for the major companies to make their important announcements, lesser known and independent developers and publishers also use the event to publicise their latest endeavors. Simple Lifeforms is one of those companies, and it’s chosen E3 2009 to announce it’s casual, free online game Spell Souls. Not only that, but the company is hoping to attract people interested in becoming beta testers for the game. Hopefully, by Summer 2009, Spell Souls will be available on social networking sites like Facebook and Myspace.

Spell Souls is a turn-based, magic dueling game. All players are wizards, sorcerers or shamans. The goal is to see who’s the strongest and most cunning. This is done in two ways. First is a strategic sort of game, where players can use their “friends” as warriors in battles. The second manner is in duels against other Spell Souls users, where you take turns trading blows.
