What happens when you take a billion dollar franchise and combine it with a jaded internet community? You get Duty Calls: The Calm Before the Storm. Duty Calls is a playable parody of modern CoD games that is available as a free download. It takes some of the franchise’s clichés, and pulls out their most hilarious qualities.

The Onion has released a story which is probably the best response to any accusations of video game violence I have ever read. The article in question, titled “Wii video games blamed for rise in effeminate violence,” suggests that the cutesy games released for the system are softening up America’s children and turning them into prissy wusses who can’t defend themselves. In case readers aren’t aware, The Onion is a fake newspaper, where all of the news is completely false and absolutely hilarious.
