GameStop’s June 1 – 7, 2011 ad discounts select EA and computer games
GameStop’s first sale ad for June is out, and there are actually a few promising deals for people willing to stop by between June 1-7, 2011. There are discounts on some popular games from EA, a few Windows and Mac games are reduced, there’s a uDraw Tablet deal and there’s even a pretty good iTunes gift card promotion. It’s a good week to save money while picking up something nice to amuse yourself.

Amazon’s April 19, 2011 Gold Box is filled with discounted video games (Update)
It’s one of those days today. Amazon’s taken its Gold Box and stuffed it full of discounted video games. So if you stop by the site throughout the day, you’ll be able to take advantage of the deals and get something pretty good for a lot less than you normally would. You have to be quick though, as deals can pass quickly.

Amazon holding Prelude to Black Friday sale, discounting PC games today
Good news for gamers! Amazon’s leading up to Black Friday 2010 with a Prelude to Black Friday Deals Week this week. Starting today (November 15, 2010), there’ll be special video game deals lasting all week. Each deal will only be good one day though, so don’t dally if there’s something you want.
Today’s promotion is expensive, but worth it if you’ve been lazy about acquiring Blizzard computer games…

BlizzCon 2010 is in two weeks, and it’s time for people to start getting ready. The convention tickets are being mailed out to attendees and Blizzard has released a schedule for the four main stages at the event so people can start making their plans now. After all, there’s nothing worse than getting the schedule the day of the event and having no time to look up the presentations and see which are worth attending. This year’s schedule should please World of Warcraft, Warcraft II and StarCraft II fans, as well as anyone who’s been going crazy waiting for Diablo III…
Cheat at StarCraft II and lose your zerging priviledges permanently
Blizzard has posted a not-so-friendly warning to StarCraft II players that anyone caught cheating or hacking the game is violating the terms of service, and their Battle.net account will be banned permanently. As in, forever. Until you make a new account.
University of Florida offers class based on Starcraft
Anyone who has played a strategy game or worked with teammates in a shooter to capture an objective knows video games require serious brainpower. The theory behind the University of Florida’s EME-2040: 21st Century Skills in Starcraft course is that players learn valuable life skills including problem solving and resource management.
July 2010 NPDs: Xbox 360 rules the month
The July NPD sales figures have just been released. It’s not the greatest month the videogame industry has ever seen. As we recall, the summer months have been under a dry spell. Naturally, console sales have not been pushed by a huge release on just about every platform. StarCraft II is the exception, but its sales are not present in this months NPD’s. According to NPD analyst Anita Frazier, StarCraft II boosted PC game sales by 103% over July 2009.
GamesCom 2010: Razer’s “new gaming weapon” tease and European debuts
Razer, makers of higher-end game accessories including keyboards, headsets and mice (or is that mouses?), sent an email today (August 12, 2010) teasing the company’s GamesCon 2010 announcements.
In the email the company promises “a world premiere and launch of new, yet to be seen Razer equipment.” The company’s web site also describes the yet-to-be-announced product as a “new gaming weapon.”
The two items the company is promising to be at GamesCon 2010 are the Razer Onza TE Gaming Controller for Xbox 360 and the Razer StarCraft II product line-up which includes a keyboard, mouse and headset.
