Capcom Arcade brings the arcade experience to the App Store

It seems more likely we’ll never return to the days of sliding tokens into an arcade cabinet. We’ve traded in gathering around the cabinet for talking over the internet. It was good fun while it lasted, and I would be remiss if I didn’t feel bad about that. But Capcom is trying to harness the power of the old days by releasing Capcom Arcade on the App Store.

XBLA space limits impede development on Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix

Microsoft has mandated that no Xbox Live Arcade game can be any bigger than 150MB, and according to Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix‘s director David Sirlin, this could be a serious problem.

Sirlin said in an interview with Videogamer.com that the title’s 1080p graphics will take up a lot of space, the specific size depending on how much shading is used and how effectively the visuals can be compressed for the 360 version. Audio could also be heavily affected, and may limit or prohibit Sirlin’s original intention of having both the old QSound music and a remixed soundtrack available for the remake.
