Sucker Punch joins the Sony empire
Sony and Sucker Punch have finally stopped dating and made their partnership official. Sony has purchased Sucker Punch Productions which will now place the developer under the umbrellas of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios. Sucker Punch created a couple of Sony’s well known franchises such as inFamous and Sly Cooper.
inFamous 2 comes to PSN as a full download
You no longer have to leave the house to play the full version of inFamous 2. Sony just put the full game in the PlayStation Store for immediate download. It is selling for the normal retail price of $59.99. You can probably find the game for a little cheaper somewhere online, but chances are you won’t save more than a few bucks.
inFamous 2 demo: Welcome back Cole
Today the PlayStation Store was brought back online. Along with the boatload of content that was published to the store is the inFamous 2 demo. inFamous 2 releases next week on June 7, 2011 exclusively for the PS3. I downloaded the over 2GB demo earlier this morning and took Cole out for his second adventure. My goal was to get an idea of how Sucker Punch evolved inFamous 2 from the original game. InFamous 2 does share a decent amount of similarities from the first game, but there have been plenty of changes as well.
How to get into the inFamous 2 UGC beta
In case you hadn’t heard, inFamous 2 will ship with user-created content capabilities. This means anyone will be able to design and upload their own missions in inFamous 2. Those missions will be streamed into the game in real-time. The tools Sucker Punch will provide are the same tools the team used to create story missions for inFamous 2. Sucker Punch needs to test this feature before launch, and you have a chance at being a part of the inFamous 2 User Generated Content (UGC) beta.
inFamous 2 lets you create your own missions
Sucker Punch dropped an electric bomb today at the Game Developers Conference. inFamous 2 will be another Sony published game that will put an emphasis on community sharing and interaction. inFamous 2 will allow players to create their own levels and share them with others on the PlayStation Network. We understand why LittleBigPlanet and ModNation Racers can pull this off, but inFamous? Consider our minds blown.
inFamous 2 Hero Edition saves the day
We won’t be seeing inFamous 2 in stores until June 7, 2011, but that doesn’t mean we can’t already start dreaming about buying that $59.99 PS3 exclusive. Or, perhaps you may be paying $99.99. It depends really, on whether you can be happy with just a plain, standard edition or if you really want to step things up and go for a deluxe Hero Edition. By Hero Edition, we of course mean it’s just the standard, goodie-ladden collector’s edition…
Sucker Punch explains the revamped inFamous 2 karma system
The karma system in the original inFamous determined if Cole was loved or hated in Empire City. The choices you made were pretty cut and dry. Do you heal hurt citizens, or drain energy from them? Do you accept a small reward for lending assistance, or do you kill the quest giver and take everything? inFamous 2 hopes to blur the line between good and evil a little more. This time around, consequences won’t be so obvious. To do this, Cole has to decide whose advice he’s going to take during quests.
Amazon briefly reveals inFamous 2 Hero Edition
There was a time when collector’s editions of videogames were reserved for very special releases. Now it seems like every big game release is accompanied by a collector’s edition that contains a bunch of stuff you didn’t knew you wanted until the publisher told you so. Today we’re telling you about the inFamous 2 Hero Edition that was leaked by Amazon. It carries a $99.99 price tag and is set to release on May 24, 2011
inFamous comics bridge the gap between first two games
Since Christmas is only five days away, we don’t expect the videogame industry to be throwing major announcements our way. Therefore this story about a new comic book series based around inFamous can either be something you’re excited for, or something you could care less about. As a big fan of the first game, I fall into the former category.
Sly 4 teaser found in The Sly Collection
The Sly Collection was just released last week. It contains all three games in the Sly Cooper franchise, only this time they have gotten HD makeovers. Playing through these games again will present you with something a little more than nostalgia. There appears to be a teaser for the yet to be announced Sly 4 embedded on the disc.
