Gamertell’s 10 best Wii games released in 2010
The Wii had a pretty good year, game-wise. Yes, first party games were the main darlings of 2010, but there were plenty of great games from companies other than Nintendo. With a few exceptions, it was overall a great year for new entries in existing series.
Join Gamertell as we look back and salute 10 of the best Wii games released in 2010. Perhaps you’ll see one or two of your recent favorites listed…

The top two games of the month are Madden 11 for the Xbox 360 and PS3. The Xbox 360 is also the top selling console of the month with over 356,000 units sold.

I just finished reading through the early edition of the Sunday, May 23, 2010 newspaper and if you’re planning on picking up Super Mario Galaxy 2, there are plenty of special offers out there. The Wii game Super Mario Galaxy 2, the sequel to the beloved Super Mario Galaxy, makes it’s debut May 23, 2010 and Best Buy, Kmart and Target each have special deals to try and lure buyers in.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 soundtrack released on YouTube
The quality of the tracks are of high quality. There are 47 tracks to enjoy. SMG2 has a soundtrack that is heavily orchestrated. It reminds me of a Disney movie soundtrack in the best possible way. If you’re like me and wanted to hear the song that plays in almost all the trailers, skip to the track called Fluffy Bluff Galaxy
Super Mario Galaxy 2 stars Mario, Yoshi and Luigi
As Super Mario Galaxy 2‘s May 23, 2010 release date draws nearer, Nintendo is revealing more secrets about its forthcoming Wii game. It’s not like there’d be any point keeping it a secret until the game launched. The latest revelation is quite a surprise, but a welcome one! It turns out Mario isn’t the only brother exploring the galaxy!
This time, it looks like Luigi is going to steal some of the spotlight for himself. Nintendo didn’t reveal any information on how players can play as Luigi instead of Mario, but did send a neat trailer and some cool screenshots onto the internet.
Let’s watch Super Mario Galaxy 2 Transmission 7 gameplay trailer and see Luigi in action…
See Mario and Yoshi power up in Super Mario Galaxy 2
Nintendo’s letting more details about it’s latest Mario Wii game, Super Mario Galaxy 2, trickle out. The latest announcement, revealed in a series of hands on demos and trailers, shows all of the various power-ups that will be appearing in the game. It turns out Mario has a new trick, and even Yoshi has some new abilities to make planet-exploring easier.
Mario gets a whole new power-up for triggered by eating a rock mushroom. (Don’t try this at home.) Once Mario touches one, his whole body turns into a rock. When he’s in this form, players can press a button to turn him into a huge, spherical boulder…
E3 2009: The 10 best games announced for the Wii
E3 2009 is all over now and the games have all been announced. It’s time to look at the best of the best, specifically for the Wii.
There were a ton of games announced at E3 that all look very good, so I limited it to the best ten, which really only makes this a sampling. Games are listed in no particular order.
Opinion: How Nintendo won E3 2009
At E3 2009, Microsoft showed us the future of gaming with Project Natal. Nintendo addressed the hardcore Nintendo fan’s concerns and Sony came out swinging with stuff all across the board.
If you are looking for a clear cut “winner,” however, I think you have to look at Nintendo. While Microsoft wins as my favorite presentation, Nintendo accomplished everything it set out to do and that’s comfort both gaming fans and Nintendo fans alike, by reassuring us that Nintendo hasn’t given itself completely up to the idea of catering only to a “casual” market.
