CES 2011: LG’s stuffed dog is the cutest widdle swag at CES

Booths at conventions usually offer swag, and CES is no different. Various companies passed out T-shirts, earbud holders, and even tiny bottles of hand sanitizer. Well, it’s flu season after all. But I must say that nothing was as cute as the swag that was being passed out at the enormous LG booth.

PAX 2010: My T-shirt swag collection

One of the things I love about going to video game events is not just checking out demos of upcoming titles, but the swag. Who doesn’t love free stuff? But of course, there’s good swag and bad swag. Bad swag are items that you’d never in your right mind use again, or are so flimsy that it gets damaged during your flight back home. Good swag refers to items that are sturdy and actually still useful, months or even years later. T-shirts definitely fall in the category of “good swag”.

E3 2010: Visit Natsume’s booth and pick up a pony

There’s only an hour left of E3 2010! Before you head home, you may want to stop by Natsume’s booth (#823) in the South Hall. If you take the time to try out one of four DS games, you can get an awesome souvenier – a pony!

No, not a real pony. A stuffed pony. Well, horse really. Natsume has a treasure trove of stuffed Harvest Moon horses available. They’re plush, soft and small enough to fit into your carry-on…

E3 2010: Exspect’s got awesome swag

If you’re attending E3 2010 and looking for some stylish free stuff, then head over to Exspect’s booth in the West Hall. You can pick up a free USB bracelet with pink, white and black psuedo-space invaders all over it. It’s rubbery, and ready to store 128mb of your most important information.

Those who happen to pick up a flier can also return to Exspect for another special gift. If you check the back side, you can turn it in to get a Monsters vs Robots Joystick Junkies pendant. It’s a see-through, day-glo piece of yellow plastic that looks like a little monster. Necklace supplies are limited though

E3 2010: Awesome luchador masks at the Lucha Libre AAA: Heroes del Ring

One of the coolest swag items this year was found at the booth for Lucha Libres AAA; Heroes Del Ring, Konami and Slang’s Xbox 360 and PS3 wrestling game. If you were a member of the press and happened to attend a special demo, you could get a real-life luchador mask.

There were at least four different masks available. Since fellow Gamertell writer Jessica Moen and I both attended the meeting, we got two different masks…

Swag of the Week: Pirates of the Caribbean Online model ship

Today I received one of the largest bits of promo swag from a game company.

In a wooden box that measures approximately 19 x 19 in. (packed in an even larger cardboard box), the Walt Disney Internet Group sent a wooden ship replica. The ship was sent to promote Pirates of the Caribbean Online, as was clearly stamped on two sides of the wooden box/crate. On alternate sides of the box was stamped the game’s slogan, “Live the Legend.”

Swag of the Day: Are You Looking at Mii? T-shirt

I received this shirt from Nintendo a few days ago, promoting the Miis that Wii owners can create on their console. So here’s a slice of Nintendo’s Mii PiiR: The Mii Channel now includes a Mii design contest. They give you a character to design (usually a Nintendo character or holiday related) and Wii console more »

Strange Swag: Touch Generation placemat

This has to be one of the weirdest bits o’ swag I’ve received from Nintendo. Well, except maybe the Brain Age brain snowglobe. To help promote the Touch Generation-branded lineup of games, Nintendo sent members of the media a laminated placemat featuring a TV dinner style tray made up of a Thanksgiving feast” turkey, mashed more »
