Name your own price for Tale of Tales 3 game bundle

If you need something unsettling for Halloween, then indie developer Tale of Tales has a deal for you. It’s just announced a Day of the Dead game bundle that includes The Graveyard, The Path and Fatale, three dark and thought-provoking experiences for your computer. Best of all, you can name your own price.

Well, pretty much name your own price. You have to pay at least $3 for the Windows or Mac game bundle…

Gamertell Review: The Path for PC

Everyone is familiar with the Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale. Perhaps that’s what helps make The Path seem so alluring. Tale of Tales is presenting players with something that should be familiar. Only it isn’t. The tale is going back to its more primal roots, and players will be tasked with guiding six girls to Grandmother’s House.

The Path could be short, if you follow the “rules.” Go to Grandmother’s House. Stay on the path. But if you want the full experience, one which casts a dark shadow on the lives of the six red sisters involved, you have to break the rules. And really, it’s much more satisfying if you do…

Gamertell Preview: The Path for PC

I’ve been excited about Tale of Tales’ The Path for quite some time. To be more accurate, I’ve been excited about the Windows game since it was featured in an issue of Shojo Beat one year ago. So when the opportunity to preview the game arose, I leapt at the opportunity.

The game begins in a red room filled with six red girls. These are the six sisters, Robin, Rose, Ginger, Ruby, Carmen and Scarlet. Here is where the stage is set – you pick one girl to make a delivery to a sick grandmother who lives in the woods outside of the city. Each girl has her own adventures ahead, her own personality and her own ability. Once you’ve chosen a girl, you must follow her tale through to the end. As you wait and decide, each character busies herself with some sort of activity, until she is chosen.

I chose to walk in Carmen’s shoes for the purposes of the preview…

Tale of Tales to let gamers walk The Path in March

What could be one of the coolest independent games of 2009 now has a release date – Tales of Tales has confirmed that The Path will be released on the Tales of Tales site, Direct2Drive and Steam on March 18, 2009. So far the price hasn’t been set, but I’m sure it will be revealed when the launch date draws closer.

The Path‘s a horror game based on the tale of Little Red Riding Hood. Six girls, Robin, Rose, Ginger, Ruby, Carmen and Scarlet all must take the journey to grandmother’s house. This isn’t a simple task though – you have to choose which path the girls take, and how they will get to their final destinations. And when I say final destination, I mean final – none of the girls comes back alive. It seems like an interesting, psychological thriller.

Tales of Tales is known for their ethereal and sometimes exotic games. As you may recall, the company is known for The Endless Forest

Discover The Endless Forest through the community website

A new community website for the free, MMO (massive multiplayer online game) The Endless Forest is now open, as a new outlet for users to interact with one another. Previously, The Endless Forest users has to use the Tale of Tales forum for interacting, however it was unable to adequately provide for them.

So on May 2, 2008, the official community website was opened. The new site allows for a number of things that were previously unavailable. Users can interact with other users, maintain a diary and share images.

The Endless Forest is a different kind of MMO. The game was originally created for the Luxemburg Musée d’Art Moderne, and is more of a living piece of artwork than a game, at time. All players are deer in the forest, and the point of the game is to explore the world. The most interesting aspect is that it can function as a screen saver when the game isn’t being played.
