Speed Racer, Samurai Pizza Cats considered for Tatsunoko vs. Capcom
There are probably as many fights between fans over who should have made the roster for Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars as there are between fans playing the game.
Considering some Tatsunoko anime is more popular in America than others, Capcom producer Ryota Niitsuma said the company tried to get a few more characters in.
“We at Capcom, too, wanted to see the Samurai Pizza Cats in the game. We were in discussion with Tatsunoko productions to try to get them in the game. It went right up the last minute but it didn’t go through,”
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom takes center stage at Anime Expo 2009
Capcom hit us with a surprising announcement at the 2009 Electronic Entertainment Expo: It’s bringing Tatsunoko vs. Capcom:Ultimate All-Stars to the United States on the Nintendo Wii.
At E3 Tatsunoko vs. Capcom picked up multiple Best Fighting Game awards, including the Game Critics award. The much-awaited game’s coming-out tour continues at Anaheim, CA’s Anime Expo July 2 through 5, 2009.
Attendees will get the first chance to put hyper-powered fists to garishly clad faces by visiting booth Booth 437-439 to deal out a few billion damage points. I’m not kidding, they measure damage in this game in this billions for a real “anime” feel.
E3 2009: The 10 best games announced for the Wii
E3 2009 is all over now and the games have all been announced. It’s time to look at the best of the best, specifically for the Wii.
There were a ton of games announced at E3 that all look very good, so I limited it to the best ten, which really only makes this a sampling. Games are listed in no particular order.
Capcom’s decided North America deserves Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, too
Capcom’s latest Wii game announcement for North America is the much hyped fighter mash-up Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. Nintendo Power got the scoop on the game, and the news has spread like wildfire across the internet. While there were whispers of a possible release overseas, it was considered unlikely due to the obscurity of the Tatsunoko side of the game.
Tatsunoko is an animation company known for making TV series, and is part of Takara Tomy. Some of it’s more recognizable series are Speed Racer, Samurai Pizza Cats, Neon Genesis Evangelion (a collaboration with Gainax), Robotech, Video Girl Ai and Gatchaman. Unfortunately, only a few of the characters from the Tatsunoko side of the game will be familiar faces, as many Tatsunoko series haven’t been introduced to America.
Even more exciting is the possible rumor that Wi-Fi multiplayer could be added in for the North American release…
