Valve has even more Team Fortress 2 content planned for 2012

TF2 spy

Believe it or not, there is still plenty of new Team Fortress 2 content in the works. Valve has something super secret up its sleeve and it doesn’t have anything to do with hats or maps. TF2 is already free-to-play, so whatever Valve is doing may turn out to be pretty significant.

You can now trade Team Fortress 2 items on Steam

Steam has launched a new feature called the Steam Trading Beta. The Steam Trading Beta allows Steam users to trade items and Steam Gifts with other people on Steam. To enable the beta, you’ll have to go into your Steam settings and select Steam Trading Beta. After a download and restart, you’ll be good to go.

Rift and Team Fortress 2 to cross-promote each other

We’ve seen cross-promotional campaigns before in that one game helps promote another. For example, those who purchased a collector’s edition of AION got a code for a wings emote for their toons in Guild Wars. Similarly, Those who bought Dragon Age: Origins got a code for Blood Dragon Armor that Commander Shepard can wear in Mass Effect 2. However, one particular cross-promo is occurring between the unlikeliest of pairs, the upcoming MMO Rift and Team Fortress 2.

Poker Night at the Inventory unlocks Team Fortress 2 content

Telltale Games left us scratching our heads when it announced Poker Night at the Inventory. The game includes Tycho from Penny Arcade Adventures, Max from Sam and Max, The Heavy from Team Fortress 2 and Strong Bad from Homestar Runner playing poker together. It will be released this month for $4.95. Pre-ordering and playing Poker Night at the Inventory will encourage you to jump into Team Fortress 2 because it unlocks new items for you to use.

Telltale’s crossover game is about poker

Earlier this week, Telltale Games teased us with a video starring four characters from different games. Tycho from Penny Arcade Adventures, Max from Sam and Max, The Heavy from Team Fortress 2 and Strong Bad from Homestar Runner would somehow find a way to gather in the same place. There will be no team deathmatches or mysteries to solve this time. All these characters want to do is play poker.

Telltale planning the ultimate crossover

Telltale Games is planning the ultimate videogame crossover. On the latest episode of Gametrailers TV, a teaser trailer featuring some well known characters debuted with the tagline, “Bet you never thought these guys would get together.” We’re left with a silhouette of Tycho from Penny Arcade Adventures, Max from Sam and Max, The Heavy from Team Fortress 2 and Strong Bad from Homestar Runner.

Team Fortress 2 attacked by giant cat

One of the things I like the most about Team Fortress 2 is the community. Valve continues to provide exemplary content for gamers while giving them the ability to make their own customized experiences. What do you get when you mix achievement junkies with someone who’s fed up with cheaters? You get laser shooting cats.

Drop $244 on this Team Fortress 2 Heavy figurine

The Heavy stands at 13” tall on a base and comes with a swappable head and alternate weapon. The entire figure is hand painted and is made of high quality poly-stone. The makers of the statue used the files from Team Fortress 2 to recreate the Heavy to his exact specifications.

Deal of the Day: Team Fortress 2 for half price through Steam

An update to The Scout class was released on February 25, 2009, which brings new maps, weapons and achievements to Team Fortress 2.

To commemorate this joyous occasion, Valve is selling Team Fortress 2 on Steam for $9.99 for an extremely limited time, and by that I mean until Friday (February 27, 2009).

The usual asking price is $20, which is a bargain in its own right, but now Valve is giving us little excuse to not purchase the game. This deal on Team Fortress 2 follows the…

Steam holiday sale offering games at 10-75% off this week

In this season of gifting, returning and exchanging, retailers are offering post-holiday sales in order to step up consumer spending. But the very best game deals you’re going to find this week aren’t at your typical retail store – they’re on the already reasonable Steam, and my lord, they’re good.
