Here’s what Namco Bandai has planned for Comic-Con 2011

San Diego Comic-Con 2011 may be home to lots of comic and sci-fi goodness, but it’s also proving to be quite the video game hub this year. Namco Bandai is one of the latest companies to come forward with plans and activities that it will be holding at the convention between July 21-24, 2011. It’s going to have a booth, fighting game room and panel available for attendees to check out.

If you head to booth 5136 at the San Diego Convention Center, you’ll get to try out some anime-inspired games….

Tekken 6 Limited Edition is Amazon’s Deal of the Day

Amazon’s video game Deal of the Day for June 5, 2011 may be an older game, but it’s still a fantastic deal. Limited editions of video games typically don’t last long enough to experience a price drop. Most devoted gamers immediately snatch up special versions of games they know they’ll love. Amazon must have had some copies of Tekken 6‘s special edition left over, because the Tekken 6 Limited Edition Wireless Fight Stick Bundle is now on sale…

(Update) Seven games added to PS3 Greatest Hits collection

The PS3′s greatest hits library continues to grow. Sony has added seven fine games the greatest hits library in the United States and Canada. Each game will cost $29.99. If you’re looking for something cheap to kick off the fall gaming season, consider these options.

Amazon’s Gold Box filled with PS3 sales today (updated)

If you own a PS3, you better make sure you keep an eye on Amazon today. The site’s Gold Box page always features one main deal that lasts all day, and then a number of other deals that are only available for a limited time throughout the day. Today, March 22, 2010, all the sale items are PS3 games.

There’s only one exception. The Deal of the Day is Dante’s Inferno for both the PS3 and Xbox 360. If you paid the full $59.99 retail price for Dante’s Inferno, you may not want to hear this, but Amazon is selling new copies of the game today for $38.99. Amazon normally sells it for $56.99, so that’s a pretty striking deal, especially if you were slightly interested but not totally sold on the game’s concept.

As for the hourly sales, only one’s been completed so far. The first was Batman: Arkham Asylum for $29.99, and the sale lasted from 6am PDT to 9am PDT. The current sale item is Tekken 6 for $17.99, and that sale will end at 1pm PDT. There are four more game deals after that…

Be thankful for the November 26, 2009 Tekken 6 patch

Thanksgiving 2009 will definitely be a day when Tekken 6 players give thanks. November 26, 2009 just happens to be the date Namco Bandai has chosen to release a patch for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game. This downloadable update will primarily fix and improve the online multiplayer portions of the game.

The online mode fixes are varied and essential. There are now better search priorities, to make sure you fight someone with a similar rank and connection speed. Also, when you play against an online opponent, the data transmission has been improved so you aren’t sitting around enjoying the lag. Those signal strength bars won’t just be for decoration anymore, and will correctly report connection strength and speed. Finally, you’ll be able to check that signal strength before a match begins and cancel the match if you see your opponent has an atrocious connection. Hopefully, these fixes will help prevent any problems before they pop up…

Black Friday 2009: Gamestop’s videogame sales, doorbuster deals

The Black Friday ad for Gamestop has been leaked and it has some pretty nice deals.

For example you could buy a 120GB PS3 Slim with LittleBigPlanet GOTY Edition and God of War Collection for $299. If the Xbox 360 is more your flavor Gamestop is selling a Xbox 360 Elite with Pure, Lego Batman and a choice between Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Spider-Man: Web of Shadows for $299.

Tekken 6 ships 2.5 million in its first week

Fighting games aren’t as popular as they used to be, right? Don’t tell that to Namco Bandai, as the company has put extensive resources behind Tekken 6, including ponying up enough money for Monday Night Football ads.

Namco Bandai has also confirmed the shipping of 2.5 million copies of the sequel available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Comic Con 2009: Namco Bandai’s lineup, Tekken 6 tourney

Namco Bandai has announced its lineup of games that will be playable at its booth (#530) at the 2009 San Diego Comic Con.

NamBam, as I like to call them, is also hosting a four-day Tekken 6 tournament on July 23 through 26, 2009 in Mezzanine Room 17B at the San Diego Convention Center. Sign-ups being daily at 10 a.m. with multiple competitions taking place each day.

Namco Bandai at E3 2009

We are only a couple of days away from the madness of E3, so you know what that means… press releases, teaser trailers and rumor-baiting galore! Just the other day, I received word from Namco Bandai about their featured games at the show, to include Tekken 6, Dead to Rights: Retribution, SOULCALIBUR: Broken Destiny and Active Life: Extreme Challenge. The company is really covering its bases this year – with stuff all along the fabled hardcore-to-casual spectrum. We’ve got fighting, action and an exercise game (it’s totally a genre now), covering most of the major platforms.

TGS 2008: Tekken 6 Announced For 360, PS3

Namco Bandai Games has confirmed that Tekken 6, the latest installment in its popular Tekken fighting series, will be coming to the US for both the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 in Fall 2009. The game was originally launched in Japanese arcades last year (November 26, 2007).

According to a recent press release, Tekken 6 will boast the “largest character roster” of the series to date. Although a full character cast has yet to be to detailed, you can find a list of the 39 characters that appeared in the arcade version of the game on…
