Gamertell Review: The Mystery of the Mary Celeste for PC
With so many hidden object games available on the market, companies have to make sure that there is something special about their title, a hook that will lure in casual gamers. The Mystery of the Mary Celeste, Merscom and MediaArt’s latest entry, does just that. It takes a real mysterious and unsolved incident from the 1870′s and combines it with the supernatural. So those who play the game aren’t only enjoying searches for hidden objects and some brain teasers, they’re also enjoying an engaging story.
The original Mary Celeste was discovered in 1872, completely abandoned. Over a century later, a new ship bearing the name Mary Celeste II has been crafted and is on its maiden voyage. As a bit of good luck and to make things interesting, Mary Morehouse, who’s descended from one of the people who discovered the abandoned Mary Celeste, has been invited on said voyage…
Casual Friday: Update for August 15-21, 2009
Remember in past weeks when I said the flow of casual games has been rather slow? Well, this week it’s more of a trickle than anything else. This week has been particularly sluggish. You could consider that a good thing though! It’ll give you a chance to catch up on any games you may have missed in the past week or two.
The majority of the games released this week fall right into the puzzle genre. So if you’re fan of hidden object or match-3 games, this is your week. The few exceptions include the indie RPG Laxius Force II and the time management game KinderGarten.
Be sure to stop by Gamertell next week, when a review of the hidden object game The Mystery of the Mary Celeste appears.
This week’s best bet is: The Mystery of the Mary Celeste…
