NPD’s Top 20 US video games sales report for May 2009

Independent research company NPD Group has released its US video game sales numbers for May 2009.

The best selling game for the month was THQ’s new release, UFC Undisputed 2009 for Xbox 360 (the PS3 release came in fourth).

Six Wii games made the chart followed closely by the Xbox 360 and DS with five games each. Only three PS3 games made the list, although two were in the top five, and not a single PSP, PS2 or PC/Mac game made the Top 20.

The oldest game on the chart for the month is Mario Kart DS release in November 2005 coming in at number 12, down from eighth place in April 2009. Eight games released in May 2009 made the list.

NPD’s US videogames sales report for May 2007

Nintendo takes four of the top five spots in NPD Group’s May 2007 sales report, the with the top spot remaining Pokémon Diamond which sold more than 331.2 thousand units in the US. Activision’s Spider-Man 3 broke the streak to grab the number 3 slot and, with the help of Mario Party 8, break up the Diamond and Pearl Pokémon duo.

NPD’s top 20 US games report for April 2007

Nintendo takes the top four spots in NPD Group’s April 2007 sales report, the top two being the duo Pokémon releases, Diamond and Pearl (cue the Prince song) for the DS. The number 3 and 4 slots were both Wii releases, Super Paper Mario and Play (with the WiiMote), respectively. It’s no surprise that Spider-man more »
