Killzone 3 is also ripe for piracy

Sony’s next big release is the latest victim of videogame pirates. Killzone 3 is going to be released on February 22, but some individuals have taken it upon themselves to steal it. Two versions of the European version of Killzone 3 can now be found on torrent sites. Anyone with a hacked PS3 can play the game.

Crysis 2 leaked online

A near complete version of Crysis 2 has found its way out the hands of Crytek, and into the hands of pirates. Crysis 2 can now be found on certain torrent sides around the internet. For obvious reasons, we aren’t going to let you know where to find it. It’s not the complete version of Crysis 2, but there is apparently enough content to be a significant problem.

CoD: Black Ops attracted a lot of pirates in 2010

Call of Duty: Black Ops has broken sales records previously set by Modern Warfare 2. No other game in the history of the world has made as much money as quickly as Black Ops. The game has made over $1 billion so far. Black Ops has managed to reach another plateau this year. It has become the most pirated game on PC for 2010.

StarCraft II sets another record, but it’s not legal

StarCraft II is the biggest real-time strategy game of the year. It’s also the fastest selling RTS game ever made. However, StarCraft II isn’t without its troubles. Being developed for the PC left the game wide open to piracy. Blizzard has done a good job keeping pirates, along with thousands of hackers and cheaters at bay. But Blizzard can’t safeguard StarCraft II from everyone. StarCraft II has managed to set a record for most data transferred on BitTorrent.

Some videogame publishers are reading your Facebook profile

A couple days ago 2.100 million Facebook profiles were swiped from the site and distributed as one big file on Bit Torrent. There’s really no real reason for concern because these profiles were already publicly available. If you share your personal information on a social networking site, you run the risk of some individual using what you share for their own means.

So much for DRM – Spore illegally downloaded over 1.7 million times

I guess EA’s probably feeling stumped right about now, since it turns out Spore was 2008′s most pirated game according to TorrentFreak. I guess this means that the whole DRM that was supposed to protect EA and restrict illegal copies of the game didn’t exactly do its job.

TorrentFreak researched and was reporting on what games are the most popular among the unsavory corners of the internet, and surprise surprise, Spore was number one. It was illegally downloaded over torrents over 1.7 million times. Actually, it seems that EA Games were quite popular among the pirates in 2008, as Sims 2 came in second, Crysis was fourth and Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars was fifth. Must have been a successful year for the them…
