Guardian Heroes gets updated for Xbox Live Arcade
A video game classic is getting a second chance, as Sega is revitalizing a Sega Saturn classic. The Treasure game Guardian Heroes is being revamped and released on Xbox Live Arcade this year. Well, in Fall 2011, if you want to be exact. Granted, it’s a little known classic, since the Saturn wasn’t one of the most popular consoles, but still. The fact that was made by Treasure should be enough to get some people to take a chance on the rerelease.
Guardian Heroes is a side-scrolling, beat’em up game with some RPG elements thrown in for good measure…
Gunstar Heroes ported to iOS
One of the most challenging run and gun games ever made is now on the iPhone. Yes, I’m talking about the original Gunstar Heroes. If you’ve got an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad, $2.99 and a a lot of patience, you can step into the shoes of Gunstar Red and Blue to stop the Golden Silver robot from being unleashed on the world…
Sin & Punishment: Star Successor available next week
Wii owners with an itchy trigger finger won’t have to wait much longer for Sin & Punishment: Star Successor. If you can just hold on, Treasure’s newest rail shooter will be in stores June 27, 2010, and ready for you to unleash some righteous justice on monstrous enemies with Isa Jou and Kachi. That is, if you’ve got the $49.99 ready to purchase a copy.
Sin & Punishment: Star Successor is all about shooting down anything that comes your way, without being taken out in the process. Using the Wii remote and nunchuk, Classic Controller, Wii Zapper or GameCube controller, alone or with a friend, you head off in levels that require you to run, glide and fly around. If you’re skillful enough, you may be able to show the relentless waves of enemy who the hero is.
There are also two special features you may be interested in. First, don’t get too excited about the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection logo on the box there…
Wii owners can expect Sin & Punishment 2 on June 7, 2010
More good news from Nintendo today, as fans of the Sin & Punishment shooting series don’t have to wait too long for the second entry. Sin & Punishment 2 will be released in North America as Sin & Punishment: Star Successor on June 7, 2010. Not a bad turnaround, considering it was released in Japan on October 29, 2009.
Like the previous Sin & Punishment, Sin & Punishment: Star Successor is an on-rails shooter and action game. Players choose to be either Isa or Kachi and then head off to attack enemies using either ranged weapons or standard hand-to-hand attacks…
Sega and Treasure bring more Bleach to the DS at E3
Sega showcased a bit more of the next Bleach DS fighting game, Bleach: Dark Souls at E3. The title, which is scheduled for a Q3 2008 release, is once again a fighting game by Treasure. It features an original storyline, 44 playable fighters, 30 new cards and a brand new, branching story mode.
The new storyline, which is used to unlock new characters and earn points to unlock other items, is set between the Save Rukia Arc and the Bount arc. In it strange things are happening in Soul Society before Ichigo, Orihime, Chad and Uryu return to the human world. Hollows are showing up, and they stay to train and help fight them.
All about Bangai-O Spirits
Bangai-O was originally a shoot’m up game by Treasure released in the 1990′s, and now it is finally getting the remake it deserves. Though Bangai-O Spirits is more an update than a remake, as it features 160 levels, a level editor, new power ups, multiplayer and Sound Load Technology.
The Sound Load Technology in Bangai-O Spirits is an interesting concept. Instead of swapping information files over local Wi-Fi, data is encoded into a sound file. That file can be interpreted by any DS with the Bangai-O Spirits game in it. So players will be able to share their levels, high scores and replays by recording that sound and uploading it online, or simply playing it for their friend nearby.
E3 2008: Most anticipated DS games
The DS is definitely the belle of the ball for E3 2008. It seems like practically every developer and publisher attending is working on incredibly interesting titles for Nintendo’s handheld. While quite a few publishers/developers are keeping us in the dark as to what games we can expect to see (like Nintendo), others are already giving fans sneak peeks of what’s to come.
Gamertell decided to look at what DS games have been revealed so far, and pluck out the best of the best. These are the titles we can’t wait to play, and we’ll eagerly anticipate the release of. So far, it looks like the DS will be home to many interesting RPGs and ports.
