Study says 2011 Black Friday shoppers are selfish, after PS3 and Xbox 360
Let’s have a little fun before we put on our game faces for Black Friday. We’ve been posting about Black Friday deals for several days, and it’s always interesting to get an idea about what products people are talking about the most. That’s why Mashwork, which is a “social media listening service,” compiled over 270,000 opinions on Twitter regarding Black Friday plans. Based on the results, gaming is getting a lot of buzz on Twitter.
Tweet along with Pac’n Twit
Back in February, 2011, Namco Bandai decided Japan needed a Pac-Man and Galaga themed Twitter client. Thus, the free app Pac’n Twit was born. Alas, it was only available on the Japanese iTunes store, even though the app featured English and French language options as well. As the months went on, it seemed everyone else would be denied Pac’n Twit goodness. That is, until now.
Pac’n Twit has now appeared on the US iTunes store! It’s just like any Twitter client, as it lets you write and post tweets, search through tweets, view your timelines, check, receive and send direct messages and get immediate notifications when someone replies or messages you…

Yakuza: Of the End has a Twitter app
All the cool people tweet. Keeping up with the latest happenings on Twitter is becoming a part of everyday life. Twitter just isn’t a way to waste time. Sometimes we report on news that originated on Twitter. Some people even find jobs on Twitter. So I ask you, why not partake in social media in a new way. When I say “a new way” I mean with a new app. Genesix and Sega released a Yakuza-themed Twitter app for iOS yesterday (March 7, 2011). It’s free, unique and is in Japanese.
David Jaffe voices his opinion on locked game saves
David Jaffe, co-founder of Eat Sleep Play, wrote something rather interesting on Twitter yesterday. Jaffe and his team are currently working on Twisted Metal for the PS3. Jaffe occasionally uses Twitter to talk about how the game’s development is coming along, and to get the opinions of fans on certain gameplay mechanics. Yesterday, Jaffe asked fans to elaborate on the concept of locked saves. Once he learned why gamers don’t want locked saves in Twisted Metal, a mini-rant ensued.
Twimon lets Twitter users conquer the world
GungHo and Game Arts are making tweeting more fun with Twimon. If it helps, compare this iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad app to Pokemon. It’s a full featured Twitter client, so you can keep your followers updated no matter where you go, but it’s also a monster raising and battling game.
You earn monster eggs in Twimon by tweeting…
PAX 2010: Glass add-on allows social network functions on your browser
When you find something cool online, how do you normally share it with your friends? I’m guessing in the form of a Facebook update or a Tweet, with a link attached. But what if you could literally place a comment right on top of the site and send the whole page to your buddies? Glass is just the software that does that.
Wizard World 2010: Videos of Willian Shatner’s “Creation Experience” panel
Captain James T. Kirk himself (William Shatner for you non trekkies) was at Wizard World Comic Con in Chicago, last Saturday August 21st, (the con ran from Aug. 19th- 22nd)
Shatner is a man who loves to talk, and talk he did at his Creation Experience panel. I took a video of him talking about a couple of his shows and asking the audience for help on a couple titles (lets face it, Shat an’t a young man anymore).
Divorce lawyers use Facebook, World of Warcraft in court
In the past, one of the biggest things you had to worry about on social networking sites is that your boss may read your Tweet that you’re at the beach when you called in sick for the day. These days, you also have to be concerned about divorce lawyers scanning your Facebook or Twitter page for anything they can use in court against you.
Followars makes it okay for iPad owners to be Twitter junkies
Listen, we know you’re addicted to Twitter. That you feel like every little thing you do is worth alerting your followers about, and that you feel important when you follow famous people. It’s okay now, because Marvelous Entertainment’s Followars validates your constant updates. Well, it validates iPad’s owners addictions anyways.
Followars is a two-player RPG that draws stats from Twitter to create fighters. First, you download the $2.99, 10.9mb game. Then both you and the other player log in to your Twitter accounts from your iPad. Both players then choose two Twitter followers to act as your party members. From there, it’s pretty much a turn-based RPG battle. You can sometimes use a special attack, and you try to defeat your opponent. Stats are automatically generated from both players’ accounts, so you really have to hope for the best…
