Double Eleven is only making games for Sony
UK-based game development studio Double Eleven is currently working on the new LittleBigPlanet game for Sony’s new PS VITA (Sony’s new handheld system, announced by Sony at E3 2011). Double 11 announced yesterday (July 19, 2011) that it has signed a deal tomake games exclusively for Sony and its various platforms.
Double Eleven is a relatively new UK development studio formed by some of Rockstar Leeds former lead-engineers who worked on titles including Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Double Eleven revealed itself at E3 2011 as the architects behind the technology driving LittleBigPlanet on PS VITA.
Ubisoft’s We Dare is too sexy for the UK too
It’s starting to look like Ubisoft’s We Dare could be the sexiest game that never existed. This PS3 and Wii party game, which requires players to compete in challenges using the Move and Wii remote, has been pulled from yet another outlet. First Ubisoft backs out of a North American release, and not it’s determined the game is too adult for the UK. You had to see that coming. I mean, look at the box art!
Apparently, people in the UK were just as appalled as people in North America…

R4 emulator DS carts officially banned in UK
Nintendo is continuing is ground pound on bootleggers, this time with a win in court against the R4 emulator cartridge.
A British high court decided against defendant Playables Limited and its owner, Wai Dat Chan, and determined that it is “illegal for the R4 card to circumvent Nintendo’s security systems in order to play content on the DS.” The finding makes R4 cards illegal to “import, advertise and sell anywhere in the UK”…

United Kingdom tabloid The Daily Star has admitted a reporter completely made up a July 21, 2010, story about Grand Theft Auto.
Expert says gaming is similar to cocaine
The Lancashire Evening Post reports videogame addiction is taking over the UK at an alarming rate. Its studies have shown more young people are skipping school and stealing money in order to support their habit. It even has an “expert” that declares two hours of gaming is the equivalent to doing a line of cocaine. As usual, parents are in no way responsible.

Piracy is one of the biggest problems the video game industry has to deal with. There’s always some hacker out there that can mod a system to play games that were not purchased legally. 250th Gamestation set to open in the UK
With the holiday season upon us, residents of Meadowhall, Sheffield, with friends and family who enjoy the occasional match of Team Fortress 2 or 6-hour World of Warcraft marathon — that is to say, the gaming-inclined — will be pleased to hear that Gamestation is about to open a new store in their vicinity.
The store hallmark is scheduled to open to to the public at 9 a.m. on Friday (November 28, 2008), with a special launch weekend set to follow.
