Gamestop holding 3 day buy 2, get 1 free sale
Time to pick up some used games. Anyone on GameStop’s email mailing list may have noticed a sale announcement in their inboxes today. From October 15 to 17, 2010, GameStop is holding one of its buy two, get one free sales. All used games and accessories are included in the sale and when you buy three the cheapest will be the one you get for free.
Best Buy expanding its used game program
That used game program must already be working for Best Buy, as it has announced it is expanding the operation. Earlier in August, 2010, Best Buy stated that almost 600 stores would allow customers to bring used video games to the store service desk to see if it could be traded in for a Best Buy gift card. Now the company says all 1,089 stores will accept used games by October, 2010…
GameStop holding a 3 day buy 2 get 1 free event
Good news if you’re looking for used video games, GameStop (and EB Games) is now holding another one of those sale events where if you purchase any three used games or accessories, you get the third one free. The third one is, of course, the one that’s cheapest of the three and not the third one you picked up off the shelf. It’s an incredibly brief promotion though, and will only run from July 15 to July 17, 2010.
If you don’t want to go to your local GameStop because you’re unsure if they will have three used games you want, you can also head online. As usual, the sale event is happening there as well…
Wii Speak can be purchased used after all
When Nintendo revealed that the Wii Speak Channel would be enabled through a one-off download ticket, consumers and retailers were a little disgruntled. Like most Nintendo peripherals, a lot of them are impulse buys that eventually make their way to the used game accessory bins in mom and pop shops or re-sold in GameStop’s plastic baggies all over the world.
Now, however, disgruntlement can be set aside as Nintendo as seemingly changed their minds about the one off download ticket system. According to Wii Fanboy, Nintendo of Europehas made the following statement regarding the download tickets:
Any consumer who may have misplaced their Wii Download Ticket number for the Wii Speak Channel or require a new number following a Wii exchange may contact their local Nintendo Customer Services department, where they can request a replacement Wii Download Ticket number.
