Uwe Boll confirms he is working on Bloodrayne 3
Bloodrayne was a once promising game franchise featuring a sexy vampire heroine who kills Nazis. How could that be anything but cool? Well, now Bloodrayne is infamous for two really horrible Uwe Boll movies based on the character.
There’s no kind of Uwe Boll movie other than really horrible, unfortunately. The German director best known for excruciatingly bad game-to-film adaptations confirmed he is working on a third Bloodrayne installment.
Boll told Dread Central the third film will be called Bloodrayne 3: Warhammer and that Kristanna Loken, who starred in the first film, is returning. Also, Bloodrayne is going back to her gaming roots as the film is set during World War II.
Uwe Boll to receive Worst Career Achievement Razzie
If you want to guarantee winning a lifetime achievement award from the Golden Raspberries, directing a large number of video game to film translations is an excellent way to start.
Uwe Boll, the man in the director’s chair for cinematic disasters including Alone in the Dark and House of the Dead, is receiving the Worst Career Achievement Award from The Razzies. The awards, which will be handed out February 21, 2009, honor, er, recognize the worst in film and nobody’s more identifiable with bad movies than Boll. He had another exceptional year as his In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale is also up for…

Title: Postal: The MoviePrice: $26.99 (DVD), $34.99 (Blu-Ray)Release Date: August 26, 2008Studio: Vivendi EntertainmentRating: “Not Rated” (Blood, violence, mature humor, nudity, strong language and sexual themes).Pros: Surprisingly decent cinematography and funny moments. Plenty of guest appearances and carnage. Ships with full version of Postal 2 videogame and includes Boll boxing matches as bonus feature.Cons: Some really low points of humor. Not quite as shocking as promised or bloody as expected but definitely not for kids.Overall Score: One thumb up and one thumb down; 75/100; C; * * 1/2 out of five.
It’s a sad truth that games based on movies generally suck. Movies based on games, unfortunately, usually aren’t much better.
So, if you embrace the inevitable crapitude and give one of the most offensive video games to a filmmaker infamous for horrible game-to-big-screen adaptations, you should get a pile of putrid stupidity in the form of an entirely dismissible movie, right?
Well, not exactly.

Postal on DVD and Blu-ray today
Oh, the humanity! Uwe Boll’s trashtastic film, which famously played in an embarrassingly low number of theaters, has come out on DVD and Blu-ray. Kotaku reports that the film is packed with “features”, like an Uwe commentary, an Indiana Jones spoof starring Verne Troyer, and a copy of Postal 2 for PC. Depending on your more »
The trouble with Uwe Boll
More often than not when you hear about the films House of the Dead, Bloodrayne, Alone in the Dark or In the Name of the King, there is a background of insulting murmurs of complete and utter contempt. They, and other absolutely horrid game-based movies, are either produced, written or directed by Uwe Boll.
Even though the majority of people can – and most likely will – argue that he is the worst thing to happen to game-based films, it’s a wonder why people still go to see his movies.
The trouble with Uwe Boll is that he wants respect but he’s going about it the wrong way…
Postal fails to impress
In a move that should surprise no one, Uwe Boll’s latest game-adapted opus, Postal, has been met with some harsh reviews. According to the New York Times, the film is “Infantile, irreverent and boorish to the max” and features jokes that span the range from “tasteless” (9/11 gags) to “tired” (“jokes about Oprah’s diet and more »
Cut/Scenes: This week in Bollville
Normally, we here at Cut/Scenes tolerate and/or ignore the antics of one Uwe Boll, director of terrible game movies (several of which have appeared in our lame game movie nights). We figure the man gets enough publicity for his various stunts (making terrible movies, boxing his fans), and he certainly doesn’t need our help.
Help stop Uwe Boll – sign this petition
A petition has been created by Robert Harvey on Petition Online to attempt to stop Uwe Boll from directing, producing and writing movies. The petition officially states that the undersigned believe he should not be allowed near any kind of movie due to the damage he has already done with movies like BloodRayne, House of the Dead, Postal and Alone in the Dark. FEARnet brought up the petition to Dr. Boll in a recent interview, asking his opinion on it. He stated that one million signatures would be enough to convince him to stop making movies.
Cut/Scenes: Uwe Boll and (the lack of) story in games
If you’re into games and gaming culture at all, you’ve surely heard far too much about Uwe Boll, the director of some of the worst videogame movies ever made, including Alone in the Dark (which has the honor of being “1% fresh” on rottentomatoes.com), Bloodrayne, House of the Dead, and the recent In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale. Boll is famous for his terrible films, for boxing his critics, and for his confusing attitudes towards gamers and games in general.
A recent comment he made in an interview on Red Eye with Greg Gutfeld caught some attention in the great game blogosphere. From an excerpt published on Destructoid:
“A lot of video games have no story. I did the movie House of the Dead and got bashed and I said, what were you expecting, Schindler’s List? I showed zombies chasing people and this is basically what the movie delivers. I don’t know what they were expecting if you make a movie based on an ego shooter where you kill ninety minutes of people non-stop.”
Go ahead, kill Uwe Boll (in Postal 3)
We’ve all wanted to kill Uwe Boll, right? Or at the very least severely hurt him. Well gamers, rejoice – Uwe Boll will be appearing in the game Postal 3 and, according to Running With Scissors President, Vince Desi: “We will let you kill UB. He will appear as himself, on a film location.” Postal more »
