TGS 2010: Valkyria Chronicles 3 is a PSP game

Sega’s come clean about Valkyria Chronicles 3: Unrecorded Chronicles. Technically, it was a Famitsu announcement which revealed absolutely everything one would need to know about the forthcoming PSP (yes, PSP) game. But there are lots of 2010 Tokyo Game Show plans scheduled for the coming days to help people really get a good idea of what January 27, 2011 game is all about…

TGS 2010: Valkyria Chronicles 3 will be at Sega’s booth

Some eager visitors to Sega’s 2010 Tokyo Game Show website happened upon a rather revealing .jpg file. While investigating a .gif of an image showing Sega’s booth schedule, Japanese visitors discovered that changing the file type filled boxes with “Coming Soon” descriptions. Japanese blog Hachimaki revealed that a .jpg file of that schedule showed Valkyria Chronicles 3 appeared in all the surprise boxes. Of course, Sega’s caught the mistake now and removed the .jpg, but not before the news spread across the internet…

Sega owns a Valkyria Chronicles 3 url

Sega’s been keeping secrets! The company has owned valkyria3.jp since the end of May, 2010 and hasn’t told anyone! That url should sound familiar, as it hints that Sega is working on Valkyria Chronicles 3, a third entry in the beloved Valkyria Chronicles series.

You can visit the possible Valkyria Chronicles 3 site right now…

Gamertell Review: Valkyria Chronicles for PS3

Valkyria was one of those games that was released in the holiday launch storm between Fable 2, Fallout 3, Little Big Planet and Gears of War 2.

Valkyria’s retail chronicles didn’t turn tin a happy ending and the as-niche-as-it-gets game ended up getting pummeled, ensuring that either Sega learned its lesson about launch windows or that the company won’t be taking another risk any time soon. Which would be sad considering how good Valkyria Chronicles is.

Sega’s PAX 2008 lineup

Sega’s going to be showing up at the Penny Arcade Expo 2008 (PAX) that’s happening the last weekend in August, and they decided to prepare attendees by revealing its game lineup for the event. DS, PS2 and PS3 owners will be happy with the company’s offerings, as Bleach Dark Souls, Dinosaur King, Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood, Valkyria Chronicles and Yakuza 2 will be on display.

So really, Sega’s going to use the event to show off some solid RPGs. Dinosaur King is a Pokemon-esque game for the DS, where you find fossils and create dinosaurs, and battle others who do the same. Sonic Chronicles is the DS Sonic the Hedgehog RPG from BioWare. Valkyria Chronicles is a PS3 strategic RPG with water-color style graphics that is receiving quite a bit of buzz. The other two titles being displayed, both sequels, are something special too, though…

PS3 gets a new RPG in Valkyria Chronicles

Sega has just announced that Valkyria Chronicles, a real time tactical RPG, will be released only on the Playstation 3 sometime in the third quarter of 2008. Although the game, also known as Valkyria of the Battlefield: Gallian Chronicles, has not yet been released in Japan, Sega apparently has enough confidence in the forthcoming title to release it worldwide. Valkyria Chronicles has been built and developed with the “CANVAS” engine, which generates 3D graphics which also are reminiscent of images seen in a watercolor painting. So, like Okami, Valkyria Chronicles will be like playing a piece of art.
