Xbox TV announcement expected sometime today

The Xbox TV rumors have picked up over the past couple weeks. Microsoft has reportedly gotten the blessing of Verizon and Comcast to offer some of its content on Xbox 360 consoles. A source told AllThingsD Microsoft will announce the fruits of those partnerships today. But if you’re someone who has already gotten rid of your cable service, these upcoming announcements will most likely mean nothing to you.

Xbox 360 TV service announcements could come next week

A little over a week ago, sources for Digiday said Microsoft was in talks with Verizon and Comcast to deliver a television service on the Xbox 360. The sources said the Xbox 360 would take the place of a traditional cable box and will allow customers to purchase television services on the fly. A new report from Bloomberg backs up those claims and says announcements could be made sometime next week.

Verizon plays it cool regarding Xbox television partnership

Yesterday, a report surfaced that detailed an upcoming agreement between Microsoft, Comcast and Verizon for the Xbox 360′s television inititive. The report said the Xbox 360 would be used to distribute Comcast and Verizon television service into homes instead of traditional cable boxes. So far, none of the companies involved have confirmed anything. Verizon however decided to at least acknowledge the story.

Verizon’s iPhone opens gaming to a whole new audience

On January 11, 2011, Verizon is expected to finally announce its CDMA iPhone. Verizon customers have been teased with this prospect for a long time. Some have held off from upgrading to another phone so they could start a fresh contract in exchange for a Verizon iPhone. Others are just happy to not settle for AT&T’s substandard service. Along with a new carrier, the iPhone will also be getting a whole new base of consumers. Non-gamers will become gamers whether they know it or not.

Verizon cell phones have received yet another exclusive game – Devil May Cry 3D. Devil May Cry 3D is, as the title insinuates, a mobile 3D version of the Capcom Devil May Cry games people have fallen in love with.

So Devil May Cry 3D has players guiding Dante through 50 missions as he hunts down Virgil, his villainous half-brother. Like in the consoles, players get to use his dual pistols and Devil Arms for attacks. There’s also a Challenge Mode, where players can try and race through 20 floors of enemies for bragging rights.
