So long Surfer Girl

The popular video game rumor blog run by the anonymous author known only as “Surfer Girl” is no more. On May 7, 2008 Surfer Girl posted her last entry, which consisted of a video of a performance of the French group Air’s “Surfing on a Rocket” and a final post. In the post she discusses her reasons for originally maintaining the blog and remarks on Doom 4 and Boom Blox.

She also asks outlets not to devote coverage to her final entry. But of course people will and are. Whether you loved, hated or mocked her, she was somewhat of an internet celebrity and her sudden departure is news. Her “Surfer Girl Reviewed Star Wars” blog promoted her political and social views, and to occasionally video game insights and rumors.
