UFC, VUDU and more video apps now available on Xbox Live

Microsoft has continued its rollout of video apps for Xbox Live. Today, nine additional video services made their way to the service including UFC on Xbox Live and VUDU. VUDU is the online subscription-free video service owned by Walmart. It has been available on the PS3 for several months, but that exclusivity is now over.

Xbox Live YouTube app pushed out early for dashboard preview testers

We recently wrote about how much the Xbox Live community can’t wait to get their hands on the YouTube app that was promised to become available sometime this month. For some of them, the wait is over. Anyone who participated in the Xbox Live dashboard preview program can download the YouTube video app right now from the App Marketplace.

Microsoft announces partners for Xbox Live television service [Update]

The rumors were true everybody. Just this morning we told you there was a possibility Microsoft would reveal the content providers that would supply the Xbox 360 television initiative. Not too long ago, a complete list of partners was posted on Major Nelson’s blog. Expect to see content from the likes of HBO Go, Bravo, Syfy, Epix, CinemaNow and others. Some networks will provide content for the U.S., while others are restricted to other countries such as the United Kingdom, Mexico and France. Expect this content to roll out during the 2011 holiday season.

What’s that you say? Video content from Netflix, Hulu Plus, ESPN, NHL GameCenter, Vudu, Xbox Live Marketplace and the PlayStation Network isn’t enough for you? We’ll you’re in luck today my friend. During an earnings call that took place earlier today, Time Warner chairman and CEO Jeff Bewkes announced HBO Go is coming to gaming consoles.

Uncharted 3 gets deep Facebook and YouTube integration

Uncharted 2 contained a feature that sent out tweets whenever you completed a chapter. This lead to far too many updates and some users became annoyed with this attempt to utilize social networks in games. With Uncharted 3, Naughty Dog is using Facebook and YouTube to connect players without ever leaving the game.

Sony releases a movie viewing application called Filmy on PSN

Sony has released a new application on the PlayStation Network for viewing personal videos. The catch is that not everyone can use it. Filmy is a program that lets you organize and play videos that have been recorded with Sony cameras. It specializes in playing AVCHD formatted videos on the PS3. You can grab it right now from the media section of the PlayStation Store.

This week’s downloadable PlayStation 3 game is Blacklight: Tango Down, a fast-paced, action-oriented, first-person shooter that takes place 25 years into the future. This week’s PlayStation Portable Download is Z.H.P.: Unlosing Ranger VS Darkdeath Evilman which involves a fatal hit-and-run traffic accident and a belt that morphs you into “Absolute Victory Unlosing Ranger.”

Fight IDAD with an Evil D-pad

Evil controllers is taking a stand against what it calls Inaccurate Directional Accuracy Disorder (IDAD). Too long have we Xbox gamers been stuck playing with game controllers with D-pad’s that are sticky and ineffective.

Evil controllers is working on an even better D-pad and, this October 2010, that they hope end IDAD. Although there are no details about the how the D-pads will be better, you can probably bet that they will more accurate in positioning and movement during game play and much easier to maneuver then other Xbox 360 D-pads.

This week’s downloadable PlayStation 3 game is Shank featuring a brute with a knowledge of gang warfare and weaponry who is searching for the assassins who murdered his girlfriend and take revenge on a family that left him for dead. This week’s PlayStation Portable Download is Zuma PSP where players control a stone frog idol that can shoot colored balls around the room. We also have price updates, the new protection plans for PS3 and PSP, new games and plenty o’ DLC.
