Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime spoke with Kotaku at GDC 2010 where he noted the state of Nintendo’s consoles. It has been rumored that a Wii HD console will come sooner rather than later, but Fils-Aime feels Nintendo’s next console will not depend on time, but rather innovation.

Following recent speculation that Nintendo is currently working on a high definition Wii for release “by 2009,” Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Michael Pachter has expressed his support for the idea, revealing that he is “absolutely convinced” a “Wii HD” is in the works.
