Wii Sports Resort may at times come off like a tech demo for the new Wii MotionPlus accessory, but is there anything wrong with that? By offering nearly 1:1 motion capturing, reflecting motions in a 3D space, the Wii MotionPlus brings a level of control to your WiiMote that simply wasn’t possible before. And that brings games to your Wii that weren’t this fun before. And yet, it’s not the Wii MotionPlus that makes Wii Sports Resort so great.
E3 2009: Hands on with Wii Sports Resort
Nintendo’s booth was a happening place at this year’s E3 (well, it usually is…), with tons of showgoers looking to get their hands on games like New Super Mario Bros. Wii Sports Resort was truly like the original game on steroids – using Wii Motion Plus, the new games are infinitely more accurate and skill-based, without sacrificing that essential Wii Sports accessibility.

E3 2009: More about Red Steel 2 (with photos)
One of the big games highlighted by both Ubisoft and Nintendo at this year’s E3 was Red Steel 2, a sequel to the Wii launch title Red Steel.
A Wii exclusive, it’s a first-person-action-game where you wield a sword and pistol, blocking bullets with your katana, hacking and slashing opponents and firing precision shots using the Nunchuk attachment. You’ll fight up to six opponents at once with one-to-one control of your katana thanks to the WiiMotionPlus attachment.

Nintendo made a lot of mention of the upcoming WiiMotionPlus controller. Meant to replace the WiiMote, Red Steel 2 will be the first game to use on the WiiMotionPlus and they will be bundled together.
The WiiMotionPlus appears to be a combination skin and attachment, covering the back of the WiiMote while adding an extra sensory pack to the bottom.
