Neversoft talks from the heart about Guitar Hero
Guitar Hero helped to usher in an era of music rhythm games. From its simple beginnings as a game laced with cover bands and featuring a single plastic guitar, Guitar Hero quickly became a household name. Guitar Hero was a mainstay at parties, as its adjustable difficulty could turn the most green gamers into pseudo rock stars. As time went on, Guitar Hero became overshadowed by Rock Band. The franchise has been playing catchup ever since.
Kmart’s pre-Black Friday 2008 game sales (November 9-15, 2008)
And the sales have begun. In this week’s Kmart print ad, the chain is promoting “Black Friday Price Available Now!” with at least one item. At the top of the game page (page 2) is Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock for PS2 for $44.99 (regular price is $89.99, limited quantities and no rain checks).
The other deals include $39.99 ($20 reduction) for Brothers In Arms: Hell’s Army for PS3 and $10 off when you purchase both WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 for PS3 ($59.99) along with Viva La Raza: The Legacy of Eddie Guerrero on DVD ($29.99).

Jimi Hendrix to be playable character in Guitar Hero World Tour
Activision today (July 21, 2008) announced that the upcoming Guitar Hero World Tour game will feature the likeness and music of the late, great guitar legend, Jimi Hendrix.
According to the company’s press release:
Hendrix will be featured in the game as a playable character, along with two of his most recognizable master tracks, “Purple Haze (Live)” recorded in 1969 at the San Diego Sports Arena and “The Wind Cries Mary.” Additional exclusive songs from the legendary artist will follow as downloadable content.
