Call of Duty Elite Premium members can now enjoy two new maps, Piazza and Liberation.  The wide open spaces of Central Park provide the setting for Liberation, a sniper’s paradise. Long-range shooting rules the day here, and the truly brave can take to mounted turrets at either end of the park. Piazza is all more »

Resident Evil 6 supports multiplayer for up to 8 people

RE 6 leon

The Xbox Live Marketplace website has provided the internet with more Resident Evil 6 details that Capcom failed to share. Resident Evil 6 will apparently have offline and online multiplayer. The offline multiplayer mode will support two-player co-op and the online multiplayer mode will support between two and eight players. Interestingly enough, the online multiplayer more »

GameStop will sell Xbox Live game codes online

A few months ago, Amazon stopped selling Xbox Live Arcade game codes. While you can still purchase Microsoft Points from Amazon, the individual games and content have to be obtained elsewhere. GameStop started setting up Downloadable Content Centers at its retail locations that let customers purchase Xbox Live content using a variety of payment options. GameStop will soon begin to sell Xbox Live games and add-ons through its website.

Xbox Live Marketplace claims two victims

Two games have been removed from the Xbox Live Marketplace. If you check the marketplace on Xbox Live or online, you’ll see that Doom and Double D Dodgeball are no longer being offered. Doom wasn’t exactly an unpopular title on XBLA and its loss is notable.

Fable II is still free on Xbox Live

The price of Fable II on the Xbox Live Marketplace dropped from $19.99 to free yesterday (October 15, 2010). We figured Microsoft would discover this and immediately revert the game back to its original price. Now several hours later, Fable II is still free. If you don’t have this game, cue it up on your Xbox 360 or PC before it gets pulled down.

Dead Space Ignition comes to XBLA October 13

Microsoft has listed the release date for the upcoming Dead Space 2 prequel, Dead Space Ignition. The game will be available on the Xbox Live Marketplace on October 13, 2010 for 400 Microsoft Points ($5). The PS3 release date hasn’t been announced at the time of this writing.

Xbox Live Update for the week of September 26 through October 2, 2010

Bruce Lee once told pupils to “be like water,” constantly flowing and adjusting to the situation. Something tells me Bruce might have liked Hydrophobia, an aqua-based adventure hitting the Xbox Live Arcade this week. It’s an action-themed shooter which allows you to use water to achieve victory. Developer Dark Energy Digital is touting a feature it calls “flow combat” that plays up the dynamic between water and well, destroying lots of stuff. Hydrophobia is 1,200 Microsoft Points (US$15).

Super Street Fighter IV is getting a new wardrobe

Two costume stories in one day? I guess that’s what happens when October starts to rear its head. Earlier we told you about Dead Rising 2′s Paradise Packs that are scheduled to be released in early October. Capcom just let us know Super Street Fighter IV characters will also be getting new costumes over the next few months.

Visit LegoLand’s Xbox Family Gamespace, get a free Harry Potter Broomstick (for your avatar)

If you are in the California (USA) any time soon, you might as well head to LegoLand. Besides all the Lego-y goodness, rides and stores galore, there is a video-game section called the Xbox Family Gamespace.

With an entrance guarded a giant Lego style dinosaur holding a white wireless Xbox controller (and a life size Batman made entirely of Legos just inside the door), the pair of rooms is dedicated to all the recently released Lego console games. The room has a great atmosphere with glowing seats (filled with wireless controllers), offering plenty of butt space for parents who don’t want to partake in the games (foolish folks) or for games with especially decent vision.

Remember Reach on your dashboard

Do you remember where you were or what you were doing when Reach fell? Chances are you had a controller in hand and a sense of dread in your heart. A lot of men and women gave their lives in defense of Reach and they should honored virtually. Thanks to Microsoft, you can remember Reach every time you turn on your Xbox 360.
