Sony Home Update: inFamous space, EA Golf course now open

This week on Sony Home there are several new places to visit starting with the inFAMOUS space now open. Players can explore the Abandoned Docks of Empire City where they can spray paint graffiti on the walls or play Reaper Shock. In this shooting gallery style game, players can shoot bolts of electricity at Reaper targets that pop-up or move across the screen for reward items for avatars and living personal spaces.

Also look for EA’s Sports Complex, a few patches and fixes, more stuff at the mall, dance-off Items and other freebies, patriotic outfits and items for 4th of July and the return of Xi!

Sony Home Update: Hamsters vs Humans, new spaces, apartments available

There’s nothing wrong with being cute and furry in PlayStation Home but after a strange message appeared on the virtual PSP menu June 18, 2009, informing users of a strange virus breaking out, turning everyone into strange creatures.

There are also more personal spaces available including a Club House and Ghostbusters Firehouse space with free items, a Hamster Dance Marathon, new games, updates to EA’s Sports Complex and we visit the end of Xi: The Hub.

Sony Home Update: Preparing for E3, new BUZZ on upcoming world and ghost invasions in the Hub

There’s a lot going on in PlayStation Home this week. A new Home space just opened a new space called the Presentation Podium, a large gorgeous space with a humongous stage near the center area where players can watch E3 2009 without leaving their HOME or channel surf for the right station. Sony will stream coverage of E3 2009 to the Presentation Podium.

Another space coming to Sony Home will be the BUZZ! HQ world where players work together to solve the questions. At the Mall the new item available is the Ghostbuster fan pack and more about Xi…

Sony Home Update: The Chimera are attacking Home, community volunteer program active

After standing your ground in England in the first Resistance game, then the rest of Europe in Resistance 2, those pesky mutants have now invaded PlayStation Home. Find the new space on the world map and enter the ruined railway station to explore.

Also this week a new volunteer program just launched within the Home world. Home Community Volunteers are made up of regular Home users donating their time and efforts to support Home Community Managements by participating in events as well as offer guidance to other community members.

Sony Home Update: Free apartment available for only one week, SpartaAFK divided

Starting today (May 14, 2009) until May 21, 2009, users can download their very own exclusive Chamber Apartment for free by visiting the Real Estate store in the Mall located in central plaza and download it.

The chamber is very spacious and includes four pits which you can switch between water falls or crackling fire pits just by stepping on a switch next to the pit. As you move around, there’s a face on the central tree that seems to follow you wherever you walk.

Before you leave the mall, visit the furniture store on the second floor for woodland-themed furniture such as dressers, shelves, chairs, tables and decorations for 99 cents each.

Sony Home Update: Sports Complex phase 1 is now open, free items and more Xi mysteries

As mentioned in the previous Sony Home Update, Electronic Arts wowed gamers with the new Godfather II Home space packed with two levels of card tables and mentioned working on a Sports Complex for gamers. Well, that complex finally opened Thursday, April 23, 2009, with two levels to explore.

Also in this update, new puzzles have appeared in Xi: The Hub, the mysterious manhole opens to reveal a maintenance area in Home’s central plaza and there are freebies at the mall…

Sony Home Update: Alternate reality game Xi: The Hub finally arrives

For the past few months since the opening of Home on the PlayStation Network, there have been cryptic messages left on our virtual PSPs. No one really knew what it meant and I don’t think they cared as long as the worlds kept opening new playing fields for the thousands of PlayStation 3 users. It spoke of portals, elevators and a search for someone lost within the Matrix of this virtual Home world simply called Xi.

Earlier this week, (March 23, 2009) strange graffiti appeared on the wall in the central plaza that, if examined, transports you into a new world called Xi: The Hub, PlayStation Home’s first console-based alternate reality game.

Square Enix’s lineup for E3 2007

Square Enix today (July 9, 2007) announced its lineup for the E3 2007 Media & Business Summit.

All of the following games will be on display and most will be playable July 11-13, 2007 at the Barker Hangar at booth #113.:

  • Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker (DS)

  • Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors (Wii – not playable)
  • Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates (DS – not playable)
  • Final Fantasy Tactics: The war of the Lions (PSP)
  • Final fantasy II (PSP)
  • Final Fantasy XI: Wings of the Goddess (PS2, Windows, Xbox 360 – not playable)
  • Final fantasy XII: Revenant Wings (DS)
  • Front Mission (DS)
  • Heroes of Mana (DS)

The press release included one new game announcement, Front Mission (the origin of the mech strategy saga), currently in development for North American. Unfortunately, and not too surprisingly, Final Fantasy XIII was not included on the list of playable games.
