E3 2011: X-Men: Destiny will let you unlock your mutant potential

Activision and Silicon Knights are teaming up for X-Men: Destiny, an action role-playing game that begins with you receiving your “X-Gene.” In the Marvel Comics universe, some heroes receive their powers in freak accidents. Others, called mutants, are just born with a gene that will give them superpowers. This “X-Gene” is not unlike the onset of puberty for a normal teenager.

In X-Men:Destiny, your character is attending a peaceful rally in San Francisco when conflict breaks out. Your mutation kicks in right then and you will choose what superpower you want.

NYCC 2010: Original X-Men Arcade game coming to PSN, XBLA

The classic X-Men arcade game was one of the titles we wanted to see remade for this generation in high definition. Half of our dream has come true. The classic coin-op X-Men game is coming to PSN and XBLA soon, but it will retain its original graphics.

Blu-ray Update: X-Men trilogy, Watchmen tie-in and digital comic coming March 2009

Just in time for the big-screen releases, dueling comic book companies put out must-have Blu-rays of popular franchises.

Three weeks after the Watchmen movie hit theaters, an animated movie, Watchmen: Tales of the Black Freighter, based on the story within a story concept featured in the original Watchmen 12-issue miniseries back in 1986. Also being released in March is Watchmen: The Complete Motion Comic, a two-disc collection of the original twelve issues of the Watchmen comic book series.

Competing company Marvel is releasing all three X-Men feature films as a box set to preempt the May 1, 2009, release of X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
