13 Atlus games discounted on the PlayStation Store this week

There’s no fancy name or logo for the latest sale that’s popped up on the PlayStation Store, but there’s a definite theme! If you happened to check in on your PSP or PS3 last night, perhaps while you were at home enduring a blizzard, you noticed that section of the store reserved for sale games was packed with Atlus titles. And not just a few Atlus games, the ones that were good but not really big enough to get fans super excited. Major games like Persona 3 Portable were discounted…

Get Yggdra Union free when you buy Knights in the Nightmare

If you like getting free games, then Atlus has a fantastic deal for PSP owners. Early Knights in the Nightmare adopters won’t just get Knights in the Nightmare. They’ll also get the PSP version of Yggdra Union: We’ll Never Fight Alone. That definitely makes up for the game being moved from October 19, 2010 to November 9, 2010…

E3 2010: See what Knights in the Nightmare looks like on the PSP

One of the games Atlus was showing off at E3 2010 should sound familiar, it was Knights in the Nightmare, the PSP port of Sting’s DS game of the same name. While the game isn’t going to be released until October 19, 2010, there was qite a bit of new information available on Knights in the Nightmare‘s PSP port, as well as a new trailer to help people envision how the game will work without a touch screen.

The PSP version of Knights in the Nightmare is designed to make the game a bit easier to learn how to play and worth buying again…

Gamertell Review: Knights in the Nightmare for DS

When you think niche title, Knights in the Nightmare is the kind of game that comes to mind. There hasn’t been a game like it on the DS, or any other video game platform. In fact, it couldn’t work on any platform other than the DS. The required touch screen controls and somewhat complicated actions of the game could only be accomplished on the DS. This is a game that requires full attention, a DS with an immaculate touchscreen and the patience to navigate multiple tutorials.

Knights in the Nightmare is also a title that should look familiar to those who played Atlus’ Game Boy Advance and PSP games Riviera: The Promised Land and Yggdra Union. All three games are part of Sting’s Dept. Heaven series. While Knights in the Nightmare is the third game released, it is technically fourth in the series. Keep your eyes open for references to the earlier games…

Yggdra Union regroups on the PSP

Yggdra Union, the strategic rpg story of Princess Yggdra, the holy sword Gran Centurio and the thief Milanor and their battle to restore Fantasinia, is going to be resurrected. Atlus will be releasing the PSP port of the 2006 GBA game in North America, just like it did with Riviera: The Promised Land.

The battle system can be a bit complicated in Yggdra Union. You can only move all characters a certain number of spaces. Then you must choose which of the cards you have available for the unit to attack an opposing unit. You then watch your unit attack the other one. After the battle is finished, the winning unit’s morale is raised, and the losing unit’s morale is lowered. Like in Fire Emblem, certain unit types are strong or weaker than others, so you really have to think ahead.
