Alistair Overeem offered as free downloadable fighter for UFC Undisputed 3

UFC Undisputed 3

UFC 141 ended in Brock Lesnar’s retirement and a bad first impression for UFC on Xbox Live. It also opened the door to downloadable content for the upcoming UFC Undisputed 3. This game won’t be released until February 14, 2012, but you can secure one piece of DLC today in the form of Alistair Overeem.

Xbox Live Marketplace claims two victims

Two games have been removed from the Xbox Live Marketplace. If you check the marketplace on Xbox Live or online, you’ll see that Doom and Double D Dodgeball are no longer being offered. Doom wasn’t exactly an unpopular title on XBLA and its loss is notable.

Complete superstar roster for WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011

The roster for WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 was recently revealed to the world. Believe me when I say this list of WWE superstars is huge. Chances are if you’ve seen a superstar on either Raw or Smackdown, they’re in this game. THQ is also going to have downloadable content for SvR 2011 in time for the holiday season. New superstars such as members of The Nexus will be included as well as legends such as The British Bulldog and Lex Luger.

Yukes launches Akinai

Yukes is taking the step towards providing downloadable games for it’s fans. At the moment, it looks like we’ll just be enjoying WiiWare, Xbox Live and PlayStation Network titles, thanks to the Akinai Games division.

So far only one Akinai game has been announced, but considering that the whole new brand just launched today (January 21, 2009), I think that’s pretty encouraging. High Voltage Software’s Evasive Space, an game where, as Stellar Guardian Konki, you must navigate thorugh levels and recover Constellation Stones. The interesting thing about Evasive Space is that all that navigating is done by pointing the Wii remote at points on the screen. Sounds challenging – I guess we’ll see how it does when it’s released sometime this month…

Return to Neverland on your PSP with the Neverland Card Battles demo

People who’ve registered their PSPs with a US PlayStation Store account will want to stop by today for a freebie, because a Neverland Card Battles demo is now available. In it, you get to see the beginning of the game. You’ll be able to watch the opening movie and go through the tutorial mode, so you can see exactly how Neverland Card Battles works. Then, you’ll be able to play a level of the game to test the newfound skills learned in the tutorial.

Remember, the PlayStation Store has changed. To access the PlayStation Store’s PSP content, you either have to download and install Sony’s free Media Manager (for Windows PCs only) to your computer or have firmware 5.00 or better on your PSP…
