WipEout 2048 had a zombie mode

WipEout Zombie

Zombies have been all over the gaming industry for the past couple years. I mean, even a train simulation game had a zombie mode at one point. Some would say zombie modes have become somewhat cliche’, but that did not stop SCE Studio Liverpool from prototyping a game mode called ZOMBIE for the upcoming WipEout more »

Review: Outbreak: Undead tabletop role-playing game

Outbreak: Undead is a niche role-playing game (RPG) based around everyday people dealing with some sort of zombie apocalypse. I’m not sure how small a niche this is, but perhaps 95% of RPGs are fantasy themed, with another 4% having a science fiction theme. All the other possible themes taken together are in the remaining 1% shared with Outbreak: Undead. Being part of a tiny niche is not a bad thing at all, as it means there are few competitors (the closest game to Outbreak Undead is Final Days, which has more fantasy elements), and it’s much easier to cover topics not seen anywhere else.

Top 10 survival tips for Dead Island

There’s a new zombie killing game in town, Dead Island, and it can be rough going, especially if you’ve never fought zombies before. Here are some tips for a guy who’s popped more than his share of rotting heads:

Seven things you need to know to thrive in Dead Rising 2

Just as the Citizens for Undead Rights and Equality (aka C.U.R.E) believe zombies are just misunderstood, so it is with Dead Rising 2. At first, I didn’t much care for the game but, as I kept playing and learned what was really going on, I gained an appreciation for the excellent design.

Here are the things you need to know to truly appreciate Dead Rising 2

Japan Import: Daisuke Zombie looks adorable

Do you love zombies? Do you love them so much that you’d be willing to help raise and bolster a legion of them so they can seek revenge on the people who turned them into zombies? Chunsoft is hoping the answer to both questions is yes, since it’s working on a DS game called Daisuke Zombie. Or, in English, Love Zombie

Undead outbreak scheduled to invade your table August 5, 2010

Zombies are a whole genre of movie entertainment and have certainly been a part of computer games (Left 4 Dead) but have never had more than a supporting role when it came to role-playing games.

Considering the fundamental equation [Zombies + Guns = Fun!] and the profits to be had from a successful game, it’s downright odd that no such game exists.

All that changes with Outbreak: Undead, a pen-and-paper role-playing game/simulator that will allow players to test their survival skills in a variety of zombie scenarios, from evil necromancers messing with graveyards to a full on zombie apocalypse.

Gamertell Review: Harcos Zombie Blood energy drink

Harcos is an energy drink manufacturer that caters mainly to gamers, teenagers and pop-culture fans with a series of whimsical energy drinks (and powders!) that provide energy in an array of flavors and eye-catching containers. Their latest product is Zombie Blood, a neon-green, lime-flavored, energy potion packaged in a blood bag that’s designed to give drinkers a four hour energy boost.

After getting a chance to test it out, I can easily say Zombie Blood is the tastiest, most refreshing and most novel energy drink available. I can’t believe Harcos didn’t tap zombies for their sweet nectar sooner…

Zombies. They’re not going anywhere anytime soon. To be so devoid of life zombies have a knack for making ours so much more exhilarating. Sony is making a trailer for an upcoming zombie videogame and it needs your help. Sony needs you to play the part of the zombies for the game trailer. If you’re in the San Francisco area, this is your chance to be immortalized on camera.

Valve releases plush Left 4 Dead Boomer zombie

If you love Left 4 Dead, or really zombies of any kind, and have a spare $50 lying around, then you need to head to The Valve Store. Seriously, I’m not kidding. See, Valve is now selling Boomer, the first of five “Infected” stuffed toys based on monsters from the Windows and Xbox 360 game Left 4 Dead 2.

Boomer, like all of the five Left 4 Dead plushies comes with quite a pedigree. Alexandria Neonakis, designer of Valve’s Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 greeting cards, created the designs for all of the stuffed toys. So you’re getting a stylish and unique little individual if you buy him. Okay, he’s not so little – he’s actually a pretty big boy at 13 inches tall and almost 13 inches wide…
