Geneva Model L WirelessOur friends at Appletell usually cover the Geneva Lab beat, given that the speakers are undeniably designed to complement the iOS ecosystem. But when Geneva introduces a wireless speaker selling for northwards of two grand, that’s where I take over. The company introduced not just one, but three new models last week, all of which feature wireless streaming capabilities, of course, but that’s just the start.

The newly redesigned Geneva Model M Wireless boasts faster processing and superior circuit design, all wrapped up in a compact, genuine wood cabinet with piano gloss finish. The Model M sports not only Bluetooth streaming, but FM radio tuning, DAB/DAB+ radio, alarm clock functionality, four class A/B amplifiers — one for each of its two one-inch tweeters and pair of four-inch mid/bass drivers. The Model M sports system frequency response of 50 Hz to 20 kHz and is available now for $599 (plus $199 for the optional painted aluminum Floor Stand M).

If that’s not enough oomph for you, the new Geneva Model L Wireless includes all of the above, plus CD playback, in a cabinet that houses four Class D amps delivering a total of 180 watts of power to its dual one-inch tweeters and pair of  5.25-inch mid/bass drivers. The Model L reaches down a little lower — to 40 Hz — upgrades the Bluetooth experience to include support for the aptX codec, and runs $1,199 (with the optional Floor Stand L adding an additional $199 to the price tag).

You may have noticed a trend in Geneva’s naming, so it should come as no surprise that the third new model in the lineup is the Model XL Wireless (an update of the original non-wireless model), which adds a pair of eight-inch woofers to the mix, backed by an additional pair of Class D amps, for a total system power of 346 watts RMS and low frequency extension down to 30 Hz. The Model XL Wireless also features a pair of RCA inputs, so you can use it with your TV, Sonos, or AirPort Express. It also features a signal sensing min-jack audio input, along with aptX codec support for Bluetooth streaming. Price: $2,299.00 (plus, you guessed it, $199 for the optional Floor Stand XL).
