Vizio announced Tuesday morning that its 2014 M-Series Full-Array LED backlit LCD HDTV is now shipping. The new TVs boast Full-Array LED backlighting and up to 36 Active LED Zones, doubling the amount in the 2013 models.
In addition, the TVs offer a full smart TV experience, with the Vizio Internet Apps Plus, now featuring Spotify along with Netflix, Hulu Plus, iHeartRadio, VUDU, and YouTube. Users can also stream their Netflix and Hulu content straight from mobile devices:
“The VIZIO M-Series collection represents a significant milestone in picture quality for mainstream consumers,” said Matt McRae, Chief Technology Officer, VIZIO. “We crafted a best-in-class experience by increasing brightness, doubling the number of Active LED Zones and boosting the Clear Action performance. All this is coupled with our VIZIO Internet Apps Plus platform for endless entertainment options.”
The models range in size from 32- to 80 inches, and in price from $329.99 to $3,199.99.
Included retailers for the TV line are Amazon, Best Buy, Costco, Sam’s Club, Target, and Walmart, as well as direct through Vizio.com.
Vizio also unveiled a new sound bar line, led by its flagship 54-inch 5.1 Sound Bar System ($499.99), meant to work with TVs 55 inches and larger, as well as the Vizio 38’’ 5.1 Sound Bar System ($279.99) for smaller models, which will ship in the coming weeks.
Both sound bars feature Dolby Digital and DTS Digital Surround sound technology, as well as Vizio Surround Matrix technology and integrated aptX Bluetooth audio coding technology.
