Sprint and HD Tracks announced Tuesday that they are teaming up to offer sampler of high-resolution songs to those who purchase new phones, from the likes of Marvin Gaye, The Grateful Dead, Tori Amos, and Paul McCartney.
The offer applies to customers purchasing the HTC One Harman Kardon edition and LG G2, both of which are high-end Android phones on Sprint.
Those purchasing the devices will receive a sampler containing eight songs, available in 24-bit audio quality downloads: The Grateful Dead’s “Truckin’,” Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On,” Joe Satriani’s “Always With Me, Always With You,” Ben Harper and Ellen Harper’s “A House is a Home,” Paul McCartney’s “Queenie Eye,” Tori Amos’ “Trouble’s Lament,” Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Gimme Three Steps” and Sonny Rollins’ “St. Thomas.”:
“HDtracks has been an innovative leader in dramatically improving the sound quality of digitally-downloaded music but these breakthroughs were not available on mobile devices,” said Sprint CEO Dan Hesse. “We decided to change that.”
Users will also gain access to thousands of HDtracks offerings- all of which, Sprint said, are available in 24-bit studio-master quality.
