With summer on its way out, we might finally get the chance for some cooler, wetter weather. Fingers crossed, since California has been suffering a pretty serious drought for some time. Notice that I don’t even mention having seasons – we don’t have much of that here either. We’ve better odds at being gifted some rain anyway.

Now, I like subtle changes in the environment as much as the next person, but California “winters” can get pretty dry. The kind of dry that joyfully joins hands with cold temperatures in order to totally wreck your skin. And that’s why humidifiers were invented. Unfortunately, most humidifiers erupt moisture from a single point in a room. By the time the opposite side of the room feels the effect, the area around the device tends to be oversaturated.

The Dyson Humidifier combines the Air Multiplier Technology, found in their best fans, with the moisturizing power of a humidifier. It’s like having two products in one, since the fan can be used with or without the humidifying.

First and foremost, the Dyson Humidifier uses ultraviolet technology to eradicate 99.9 percent of bacteria lurking in the water. Bacteria thrives with moisture, so this feature is critical for maintaining a hygienic home. The water in the tank goes through a 3-minute cleaning cycle before being projected as a mist.

There’s no guessing required with the Dyson Humidifier. It automatically measures indoor temperature and humidity to provide the ideal amount of moisture for comfort. Rooms can be evenly covered from corner to corner. Since it’s also a Dyson fan, you can rest assured it’s going to be very quiet.

It’s not available for purchase yet, but you can sign up to receive notifications and be one of the first to get one!
