Onkyo has updated its HT-RC receiver line with two new flavors: the mid-level HT-RC260 ($499) and the upscale HT-RC270 ($849). Both models offer 7.2 channels of output and are 3D-ready, with an HDMI 1.4 interface. The RC260 and RC270 also support Dolby TrueHD and DTS-Master Audio, as well as Audyssey DSX and Dolby Pro Logic IIz. Both models also feature Faroudja DCDI Cinema video processing, which upscales video to 1080p regardless of the source material’s resolution. The HT-RC line uses Onkyo’s Wide Range Amplifier Technology (WRAT), and was constructed with Darlington circuitry and Burr-Brown 192kHz/24-bit DACs.
The HT-RC270 is THX Select2 Plus certified and features Audyssey MultEQ. The RC270 is also compatible with DLNA 1.5 and Windows 7 and is ready to use with Pandora, Rhapsody, Napster, Mediafly, Slacker, vTuner, and Sirius Internet Radio.
