Sunfire Dynamic Series subwooferIn advance of this year’s Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) Expo, Sunfire has announced a forthcoming line of budget-friendly subwoofers: the Dynamic Series. The Dynamic Series is available in 8-inch, 10-inch, and 12-inch models featuring new digital amplifiers capable of 400 to 600 watts.

The subs’ front-firing woofers and down-firing passive radiators are engineered with Sunfire’s proprietary Frequency Filtration Design (FFD) for improved balance over the entire frequency range. FFD also allows for high output no matter the source material and can handle the differences in frequency requirements between music and movies. Users can also pair these subwoofers with an optional 2.4 GHz wireless transmitter for a clutter-free setup. Up to four receivers and subwoofers can be supported by a single transmitter.

The Dynamic Series is the first in Sunfire’s line to feature Class-D amplification. This energy-efficient specification adjusts the subwoofer’s power supply to meet the needs of the incoming audio signal. These subwoofers also include low-power standby modes and signal-sensing power on and off modes.

Sunfire will ship the following Dynamic Series models in October:

SDS-8: 8″ driver, 32Hz-150Hz, Peak 400W (MSRP $350)
SDS-10: 10″ driver, 30Hz-150Hz, Peak 500W (MSRP $450)
SDS-12: 12″ driver, 28 Hz-150Hz, Peak 600W (MSRP $550)

The optional wireless transmitter carries a retail price of $150.
