Audio Technica AT-LP240-USB Direct-Drive TurntableAudio Technica announced its new AT-LP240-USB Direct-Drive Turntable this week. The AT-LP240-USB comes equipped with a high torque direct-drive DC motor, dampened cast aluminum platter, stroboscopic speed indicator, and a felt slip mat. The S-shaped tone arm has adjustable tracking force and anti-skate adjustment, along with a universal cartridge mount. A hydraulic lift and removable stylus target light help to cue up your vinyl exactly where you want it. The arm height is also adjustable to pinpoint the Vertical Tracking Angle, while table leveling is handled by the adjustable feet. Playback is available at 33-1/3, 45, and 78 rpm.

The included phono preamp lets you connect the AT-LP240-USB to newer receivers that don’t have phono connectivity, while a USB output offers a direct connection to your Mac or PC. To convert your vinyl into digital files, the included Audacity software can save out as almost any audio file type you could want or need. Some basic audio editing such as click/pop removal and EQcan also be accomplished within the program.

The AT-LP240-USB is currently available at a suggested retail price of $499.00.
