Disney’s 2011 Blu-ray 3D Slate Includes Lion King, TRON: Legacy, Tangled

Just in time for CES, Disney announced its 2011 lineup of Blu-ray 3D releases today, with The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Tangled, and TRON: Legacy leading the pack. New releases promise to hit shelves day-and-date, and each will also include a 2D Blu-ray copy.

Also on the list of Disney movies making the leap into the third Blu dimension this calendar year (as actual retail products, not exclusive pack-ins) are Bolt, Meet the Robinsons, The Nightmare Before Christmas, G-Force, and Chicken Little, just to name a few.

In addition to the film being in 3D, each disc will include thematically linked 3D menus, 3D previews of coming-attractions trailers and an introduction to the eye-popping world of Disney Blu-ray 3D featuring beloved characters Timon and Pumbaa from The Lion King.

Disney’s press release also states that “at least 15 of its films” will be released “for in-home viewing on Blu-ray 3D in 2011,” so look for more title announcements soon.
