Runco has just announced new High-Bright models to compliment its LightStyle Series projectors. The first model, LightStyle LS-HB, is able to operate outdoors and in settings with less than optimal lighting situations due to its brightness.

Runco’s LightStyle LS-HB is a single-chip 1080p projector using DLP-based SuperOnyx technology to deliver bright pictures that measure 2,700 lumens in high-brightness mode. It incorporates ISF (Imaging Science Foundation) calibration suite for optimal performance including ISF Day and ISF Night presets. It’s been designed to address the issue of installing projection systems in living rooms, media rooms, and entertainment spaces throughout the home, in spaces the home theater manufacturer calls “Flex-Theaters,” or spaces where big screen entertainment is only a portion of the room’s purpose. Flex-Theaters makes it possible to handle environmental factors such as sunlight and shadows, which can challenge many projectors and result in faded images.

The LS-HB is also available with Runoc’s new CineGlide lens option, which enables a motorized, mechanical 2.35.1 anamorphic lens to move in front of the standard lens for perfect CineWide performance. The Runco CineGlide enables the viewer to switch from 16:9 content to 2.35.1 content without black bars on the top or side of the image, reformatting the content with the touch of a button.

Runco plans to make its LightStyle LS-HB projector available in February for $7,995. The LS-HB with CineGlide will be available for $15,995. Consumers will be able to personalize either model with Runco’s FinishPalette, which enable full-color, large-format design options such as sports logos, artist impressions, and the option to custom print company logos or artwork. The LS-HB is also available with a matte white finish, which blends into many ceiling installations.
