MGM Award Series Blu-Ray
Three classic, award-winning films from MGM’s vaults will finally make their Blu-ray debut on February 15. The release of Last Tango in Paris: Uncut Version, Moonstruck, and Rain Man is timed to ensure that the discs are on shelves just before this year’s Academy Awards celebration. The three films were collectively nominated for 16 Oscars.

Last Tango in Paris, starring Marlin Brando and Maria Schneider and directed by Bernardo Bertolucci, earned two Academy Award nominations: Best Actor (Brando) and Best Director (Bertolucci). The Blu-ray features the original, more explicit cut of the film.

Cher, Nicolas Cage, and Olympia Dukakis share the marquee in Moonstruck, directed by Norman Jewison. The film was nominated for six Academy Awards, including Best Actress (Cher), Best Supporting Actress (Dukakis), and Best Original Screenplay. The Award Series Edition of Moonstruck will include audio commentary by Cher, Director Norman Jewison, and writer John Patrick Shanley; “Moonstruck: At the Heart of an Italian Family”; “Pastas to Pastries: The Art of Fine Italian Food”; “Music from Moonstruck”; and the original theatrical trailer.

The classic Rain Man was nominated for eight Academy Awards, among them Best Picture, Best Actor (Dustin Hoffman), Best Director, Barry Levinson), and Best Original Screenplay. The film, starring Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman, will feature audio commentary by Director Barry Levinson, Writer Barry Morrow, and Writer Ronald Bass; “The Journey of Rain Man,” a retrospective documentary; “Lifting the Fog: A Look at the Mysteries of Autism”; deleted scenes; and the original theatrical trailer.

Each title will be priced at $19.99.
