Antec is known for its line of computer components and accessories, but the company is expanding into the home theater arena under the soundscience banner. Antec’s first soundscience offering is the rockus 3D 2.1 speaker system.
For the rockus, soundscience has developed 3Dsst digital sound processing, a new proprietary system for creating surround sound with just two speakers. The system’s satellite speakers are made from anodized aluminum to cut down on vibration and reduce distortion. The subwoofer uses passive radiator technology to deliver big sound from a small footprint.
The total output of the system, which also features a dedicated “music” mode, is 150 watts (25 each for the satellites and 100 for the subwoofer). The rockus features an optical connection and the package includes a remote control pod that allows volume adjustment, mode selection, muting, and input selection. The system is available now for a suggested retail price of $249.99. For more information visit soundscience or call 510.770.2150.
